Center Stage: 40-54 years
41 and counting I am in the Leesburg area, let me know if you ever want to get a cruise together. I am sure I can keep up :) |
Just turned 29, had the FD going on 8 years now. Hm, so if I doubled the stock horsepower in 8 years, does that mean I'll have 1000 hp in 2014 :D?
20, but bought the car when i was 19...paid in full by me, including all my bloody sevice bills. (Helps to have a well paying job)
22 up and coming :fawk:
18, had my FD sense 16. put 12k miles on it in 2 years. do all my own work, single/fuel/PFC (other goodies). mom works at home, so i daily drive her 05 s2000, never been in a wreck. (knock on wood)
22, but feel like i'm close to 30.
19 here. Definetely a young punk. (Zips up flame suit)
Old dude - 59
At rotorfest, Because of my gray hair, people approach me thinking I'm Gordon Monson.:) |

P.S. I dont want to see another one of these threads because it is depressing how young most of us are, and the vast majority of young people into modifying cars have absolutely horrible taste, and they drive like ass. |

So far the average age in this thread is 25
28 :)
45 going on 25, got my Fd 2 years ago as a project. Rebuilt it all myself with no help, first rotatry I've ever had! Paid cash for it without my daddy's help!
Seems like a lot of the young wipper-snappers are a little sensitive about paying for their own car! I guess all the nagging from us old-timers is paying off! Average age is 25, shit some of you could be teh result of my drunken college days - how many of you have blonde hair and blue eyes? |
I'm 18, and in a LOT of debt.

42 with a stocker except downpipe runs like a dream for 2 years now
19 was 18 when i got my car
27, had the car for 3 years.
27. I've had my car for a couple years now...never got to drive it since it's still in pieces. My first rotary was an RX-4... Didn't get to drive that either. It was also in pieces and I sold it all to buy FD parts.
up and coming and ive owned the fd for almost 5 years (july 28th will be the anniversary)!

39. My car has been down longer than most of you have owned a rotary (6.5 yrs!). Do just about everything myself except engine rebuild. Hope to have it on the road by next summer. Watch out young punks!!

18 and i drive mine almost everyday. well when it works.
i'm 28 :fawk:
I paid for my 7 in full at age 16.... now 18 with no accidents and a rather modded fd....but i have to work four days a week to pay for mods and insurrance.
I'm 20 now. I got my FD when I was 19. And yes I paid for it myself. It's been very reliable, even as my daily driver for awhile. I have no complaints.
I'm 23 now going on 24...I bought mine almost a year ago--22 going on 23...
Shouldn't this have been a POLL?? |
19 going on 20 in 10 days. Got my FD 3 weeks ago. Currently in the shop getting its coolant seals looked at to see if they are gone (1900 miles on rebuild).
Sold my truck and used money saved up to make downpayment, and am paying a loan for the next 4yrs + insurance. |
27 here. I wonder what percentage of these teens "claim" they purchased their car when it was actually "purchased" for them? Paying for gas does not mean anything either :fawk:
Also, people are in debt because of their cars? Are you guys dumb or stupid? Drive a bucket until you could afford one. Paying interest is a waste!!! |
20. Bought my car @ 17 for 5k. Made a few repairs mechanically. I'm a full time college student that works 7 days a week. Nobody but me pays for this car.
30 here and paid for the car and all the mods myself.
24 just bought my first fd last month. old roomate used to have one and i've wanted one ever since. 93vrfd_r1 i'm in love...........needs some work but thats what i luv to do, spend all my time and money on my beloved car.
I'm 92 years old, and I live with my parents. They pay for everything. If I am bad, they take away the keys, and I don't get any supper. Last week I even got grounded because I wouldn't take my little brother (90) to the movies.

Soon to be an up and comer.. 20

Damn, Guess I'm a young punk. I turned 19 two weeks ago. Too be honest, Most of the people my age with fast cars are horrible drivers. People are right to sterio-type us. I'v been racing in sanctioned events for a couple years now so I feel that I'm a capable driver. But other people my age would most likely crash my car in a day or two after buying it.
Wish I didn't have to pay for everything, but I do. It'd be awesome if my parents would help me out. But they won't.It's gonna be rough when I quit my 100/k a year job in sept. to go to college. But, I hope to never have to sell the fd. |
Center Stage 570 months old
21, i can live with being an up-n-comer ...
bought and paid for every car i've owned since i was 15, i learned early on about financing  :tonque:, theres been about a 6month period between then and now that i haven't had at least 1 loan going... |
23 here
27 years old now, got the car when i was 19 :molepoke: :)
57 I personally prefer 'old fart'. Bought the car in 93 and that would have made me uhh, gosh you young whippersnappers do the math. Only in last three years have I able to spend any money on it. Divorce just eats away at the old income. I was able to hold on to the car.
Car is at Rotorsports Racing now for upgraded fuel system, SMIC, PFC and Commander. Been there too long so am anxious to get it back. Previously they did a stage 1 rebuild, DP, and RB Catback. They said I should be 300 - 330 at the wheel now. Fast enough for me. |

After going to rx7 meets & dynos & etc...I knew I am a proud owner of a sport car that young punks jack off dreaming about it instead of their girlfriends.
I am mid 40s and can take any of your young ass punk on the hwy anytime... |
