It is going to be around $300 but VR code nu is not a 3 stage paint color.

I think you should just leave it like that untill you get the 99spec parts and then paint it.Why spend $300 now when u could just save it for when you paint the whole thing.

Too bad it didn't get totalled... It should have for you constantly parking in a HC place, no matter how quick of a stop. That and maybe the insurace company would have declined to pay out since you were illegally parked, that would have been great! Since it is so close to your house, you could have always went back. Down here where I live, you'd probably already gotten your teeth kicked in for being such a *****. HC people have it hard enough. In the future please respect the blue spaces!

exactly, you may think you had a bad night because someone nudged your car, someone else might have had a bad nite because someone parked in their handicapped spot and they were forced to make a longer walk in their weakened condition... sucks your car got banged up, but in all honesty had you done the honest thing and not parked there, it would have never happened, ponder that for a little bit...

and i wouldn't claim it through your insurance, any insurance company i've heard of requires a police report (even after the fact), and it probably wont look good on your part while you and the girl explain to the police officer how you were parked in the handicapped spot, while you are standing in front of him perfectly healthy and such ... i'd just chalk this one up as a "damnit", keep whatever money the girl gave you (how much if you dont mind me asking), and do whatever you feel is best in this situation as far as getting it fixed, if your gonna repaint it in the future anyway and the damage really isn't that noticable then i'd just hold off, waste of money if shortly down the road its just gonna get painted over anyway...

good luck with it all, i've had similar **** happen, like idiots who swing their doors open and smack the **** out of my car while i'm sitting in it, most people are just completely oblivious to the rest of the world and its existence...

the handicap spot is not even an issue here so i cant see why its constantly being brought up. i can understand that if i hogged that spot and some real handicap guy said move and i said ill be one minute or something, then yeah thats karma and i deserved it..

but in all honesty, i think it was just coincidence, something like this has never happened to me so i guess it was just that time..

phoenix, thanks for the kind words, im sure when that time comes for you (i hope it doesnt), you'll feel different and understand where im coming from..but fyi, i dont think a tap causes the whole car to shake like if there was 75mph wind out there..the little damage after that? you got me, im glad the damage was that little after a hard hit..

the aftermath isnt whats concerning me, its how it happened, i was supposed to drop off something at my sisters house first, then go to the gas station since the gas station is closer to my house but i chose the gas station first..so i think i should have listened to my first instinct and stuck with the original plan..THATS why i think why it happened, it has nothing to do with me and handicap spots..out of all the days in a month where i go to that gas station, im forced to park in that handicap spot about maybe twice a month so really, its not raining over my head..

iceman, yeah im sorry to see that pic, i think i would have literally died if that happened to me, FD or not..

ill take pics now since its daytime of a before and then ill wash my car since its due anyway and try to polish and do something and see how it looks like after..

iceman is the passenger side turn signal for sale that's all I need to complete my car lol

hmm....I was told VR was a 3 stage by the body shop that's why I picked another 3 stage since it would have cost near the same for a repaint
it starts out with a pink layer I know that...

rob don't listen to all these haters they are too sensitive! I may start parking in the handicap spots every where I go starting today or even just cone them off!

I guess I mistook your quote as saying it was you routine to stop everyday at the gas station, parking in the handicap spot, and run in to buy a lottery ticket.

You don't know how urgently or not a handicap person can get in or out of their car. Sometimes they don't have the time or luxury to sit and wait for you to come out. Also, how are they to know if you are going to be a second or a half on hour especially in a more urgent situation?

I take issue with the blasé attitude that you have with it. It just seems that you are being so egocentric with your thinking that you don't realize how difficult it can be to live with a disablility. I personally am asking that you be more considerate in the future and not park in handicap spots.

lets see being sensitive means that a scratch on a replaceable/fixable car part is more important than being courteous to someone living with a permanent disability....hmmmmmmmm

7racer, i understand what you mean, i have nothing but respect for any disabled person..i didnt do what i did (which is rarely) out of pleasure but out of need since i have no choice..and me leaving my car running reminds me to hurry my *** up with whatever im doing and to let people thats concerned know that im sure as hell not gonna be long because otherwise someone will drive my car away..

as far as the hit

this morning i washed my car thoroughly, did the whole car with zymol (brief coating just to test it out) and then on the bumper, used meguiars scratch x and it def looks better than last night..the black marks are gone, it pretty much looks like nothing happened except one scuff mark which doesnt look as bad because i guess this meguiars relieved some of it..the scuff mark now looks like an unpolished wax residue as if you forgot to buff it..so it doesnt look that bad..i didnt take pics cause its really nothing..however the whole thing didnt have to happen but i guess thats life..

thanks rob. If it did come out that well, you might want to find someone with a orbital buffer. That will probably get it looking like new. You could probably do your whole car while your at it.

7racer I was just being an idiot that is all a joke

I think the way you phrased it was perfect and can be a wake up call for a lot of people who don't really know that much about people with a disability. I just think in this situation he tried to explain that this was very rare for him to do and he was going to be right back and even watching the car so had anyone else come near the space to park he would have been right out to move his car

also the proper way to address such individuals is a person with a disability. not disabled people or handicap people because that sounds negative to them. I just took a class for adaptive physical education for those with disabilities and that was brought up nearly every class

The time has already came for me, more times than once. I maybe reacted like that the first time, at age 17....

But my reaction and outlook has changed on what a car is, and how much I'm going to let it stress me out. I just live differently I guess, as beautiful as any car is, it's a piece of metal, man-made molded item that since its creation is on its way out, degrading and rusting slowly, it's all just a matter of time.

If that happend to me with my FD I'd probably be more upset I didn't get to buy my bagel and eat it from the store because I had to go address the accident over the fact that my FD has a scratch on it.

thats understandable but like i said, this my first time that ANY of my cars got hit so the shock was great, and not only that, it happened right before my eyes..i saw it happen play by play, i was just to slow to react to think of something to prevent it..when i saw the car jerk i couldnt see the damage cause her car was in the way so on my way towards my car i was imagining how bad it could be, then when i saw it, i was relieved because it was only a scuff mark..

here is a pos drawing i made of the gas station LOL

C = car
H= handicap spot where i was parked
and i marked where the girl was

the girl's *** was facing my driver door, she reversed, then cut the wheel to the right and i guess didnt see my car and hit it..

I think you made out really good actually. If a cop would had seen you, the ticket would had cost more than the damage that the girl did.

I went to traffic court a few years back. I was fighting my ticket so I was in a real court not arraignment. Anyway the case before mine was about a guy who got a ticket for parking in a handicap spot with out a permit. He lost and the judge fined him $800! yes $800 ******* DOLLARS! and a toungue lashing (which made him look like a COMPLETE TOOL in front of 200 people). Just food for thought.

.
That's what I was going to say... you couldn't have really brought the cops into the situation... you would have gotten a ticket, too.... so really, all you can do is accept what she gave you (if she thought about it, she could have just said "call the cops, or our conversation is done" and you couldn't have really done anything about it... for all you know, she might have hit you on purpose for parking in the handicapped space)

^^thats true

i thought about that but at the moment, i couldnt think of anything really except that my car got hit, minor or not, it got hit and i was bummed..

but this girl was a noob, i mean she said it was her first time she hit someone and she was tearing, she called her bf and started to whine asking him what to do and whatnot..so im glad i didnt get one of those girls that thinks she knows it all and quick to call cops and other friends etc etc..

rob,

sorry about the rant...just one of things that really get to me.

I'm glad to hear that its not serious. Is the paint cracked at all? That porter orbital buffer is really good if you know someone with one.

no prob man

no, paint is not cracked at all, there is however one tiny nick like if you picked the paint with a knife but thats nothing..theres like a plastic type scrub on the bumper, looks like it can get buffed out since its not even a scratch..i think it just penetrated the clear coat and not the base..
