FD with All Wheel Steering on Ebay?

Here is the link to the listing. I have never seen an FD with all wheel steering, nor have I ever heard of this mod being done. Is this just an owner not knowing his car?

BS...sounds like he means to describe the LSD which transfers grip to tire with traction when cornering.

Dont all the FDs have this sorta? That the rear tires have some play that allows them to do this?

No, FCs have a passive rear wheel steering.

The only all wheel steering an FD does is when the rear suspension bushings are all worn out.

All wheel steering was used by the major japanese manufactures in 80's . It basicly give a few degrees of steering to the rear wheels . The few degrees that the rear wheel gives the car better handling at low and higher speeds . All wheel steering also known as 4 wheel steering can still be found on certain cars like the nissian silva in the form of their HICAS system . The purpose of the system to to allow the car to turn better . Example : when you are doing a u-turn , the rear wheels will turn a few degrees right and then left . this would allow for a much tighter turn angle

After saying all this , I do not think that mazda has ever place this system in a FD before ...

If the HICAS system is the same that is found on 90-96 nissan 300ZX's then that statement is incorrect. The HICAS system is inactive at low speeds.

My friend who owns a 300zx tt told me that the super hicas isn't active til speeds of 35+ mph. However it does make a significant difference in handling.

My everyday driver is a 1992 240sx with the Super HICAS, which I have owned since new and just, can't bring myself to part with. BlueRex is correct in that the HICAS doesn't come into play in the steering until higher speeds, in my case around 60km/h, and works by slightly changing the angle as well as adding a few degrees of turn to the rear wheels relative to the direction of the turn.

I have to say the FD is awesome to drive, the power is nice, but my 240sx definitely out handles the FD. Having a four-wheel steering system such as the Super HICAS on an FD would be pretty sweet.

I would say that you have to learn how to drive your FD, making a statement like that....

I gave a kid in a 240 a ride, and he said it made his car feel like the Japanese Econo-Mobile.

Hey don't get me wrong, when it comes to power and performance the 240sx doesn't stand a chance to the RX7, but when it comes to overall everyday driving experience the RX7 isn't quite the same. The 240sx definitely responds faster and takes cornering on nice winding roads much nicer, not as fast, but smoother. My 240sx is definitely a lot quieter inside as well the interior is definitely constructed better then in my FD. Now I am not bashing the RX7, that’s why my 240 is the daily driver and the FD is not. If I had to sell one it would be the 240 over the FD hands down. Trust me though drive a 240sx with Super HICAS, and not one owned by some young kid who thinks its a Honda and treats it as one and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Actually we only have square wheels 6-8 months of the year (winter) the rest of the time they are round.

Correct & Correct - Although there is some debate as to what speed the HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension) is actually initiated at but the general consenses is around 30 miles an hour like you said. And yes it does make a difference and can be felt.
