Which fans relays are which?

Of the 4 fan relays, can someone tell me which ones are which. I'm specifically looking for the high speed, but i would like to know them all.

Thanks

If your FD hasn't had the fan wiring update done, relay 1 should have a violet (purple) wire (out of the four wires running to it); relay 2 should have a red/yellow stripe and a green/black stripe wire; relay 3 should have a blue/orange stripe and a black wire; relay 4 should have a white wire running to it. However, if your car has had the fan wiring update, the coloring will be different, and I've found that my coloring doesn't match others with the update for some reason. Relay 3 is the one responsible for high fan speed, but it needs to have everything activated in sequence in order to do it; the other three relays must be activated, as well as the water thermoswitch, in order to get high fan speed.

Thanks for the reply Kento. I'm rewiring my haltech with a new flying lead harness (was using the k2rd adapter kit) and my #2 PWM output is set to turn the rad fans on, but i'm not sure how to wire it up. Looks like a questions for the haltech section.

You named the relays 1-4, can you tell me which one is which by location?

The problem there is that if someone has removed the relays from the bracket, it's very easy to replace them in the wrong order. If they haven't been messed with, the general location is (when standing in front of the car looking in the engine bay): closest relay to you on the left is relay 1, closest one to the right is relay 2, farthest to the right is relay 3, and farthest to left is relay 4. You should probably check the actual wiring, however, as that is a much more positive identification of each relay.

Ah, good point, but you also said that the wire colors don't always don't always match. I found this post in the haltech section, i'm going to try to follow it tonight and see if i can get anywhere.

Thanks

That thread looks like a good place to start. Note that they mentioned different years have different colors. Your sig says your FD is a '93, as is mine, so hopefully the wiring colors I provided match the ones on your relays. Good luck.
