Stock Alarm
The only way to shut off the alarm is to place it in the drivers door lock and unlock the car. It will not shut off by putting the key in the ignition and starting the car, at least mine would not quit when I used the ignition, I had to use the drivers door key hole and unlock it. (turned towards front of car)

alarm and turbo timer
ok, here is how I did mine. http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...turbotimer.htm . It works. It's weird though. After you get out of the car you have to shut the door and then open it back up and lock it from the inside and then hold the handle up as you shut the door. You will hear it beep when you push the lock lever thing. But it's that easy. It only took me a few minutes. And I know what ya mean having to wait to set it. I used to have to do that here at school. it sucks! good luck

wait, so why do you have to hold the handle up? or rather, get out of the car, close the door, open it, lock it, then close it with the handle up? That seems weird to me. I did notice, that sometimes I lock the car from the inside, and close the door, and if the passenger door is opened or open when I lock it and then close both doors, that the passenger one is open again. I need to get my stock alarm to work with the turbo timer, so if this is what it does, is there any other way to get it to work? I read in another post that aftermarket alarm systems will wear out the doop pop solenoids fast. Is this true? B/C I was thinking of getting an alarm system, but was worried that this might be a problem.

Ex fd *****
Turbo Timers ara a waste of time & money for a stock turbo FD - FD's use water cooled turbos - just stay off the boost for 1-2 min before parking the car - an FD will rapidly heat the coolant to 230+ deg if left idling.
There are also at least 2 versions of the stock alarm - the first required required the engine be turned off & key removed prior to open the doors/hatch in order for it to arm correctly - the second (mid 93 model year change) changed so it would arm even if the doors/hatch were opened prior to engine shut down.
I think turning the key in either the door or ign wil turn the alarm off -
I do know that if while sitting in the car w/ the key off you lock the doors w/ the inside lever the alarm will arm w/ you in the car and will trigger when you unlock/open the door.
