Talking Engine pull & rebuild progress pictures

Well the reman finally bit the bullet a couple months ago... I just now got around to pulling the motor. Now its time for a rebuild (that im going to attempt myself) and single :P

I've decided to go with a 1/2 bridge and large single (maybe R85) along w/a giant list of other things, lol.

Anyways, enough chatter here are the pictures!

I will update w/more pictures as we make more progress. Feel free to ask me any questions etc... It has definitely been an experience doing all of this in a single car garage!

lol everyone says that... but the a/c has never worked since I've owned the 7, so why not remove it. Besides this buildup is for a weekend/race car not a DD, my DD has a very cold a/c :p

Well, I'm hoping for numbers in the mid 400's on low boost/pump gas and somewhere in the 500's later on down the road w/high boost/race gas and lots of tuning.

Isn't it sad that all of us have pics of our cars with no motor in it?

In some cases, we have a few series of these pictures.

"and this was when I had the motor out back in '02. This picture was taken in the summer of '03 when I lost a coolant seal. Oh and this one was taken last spring when I dropped a sideseal. This next picture was taken...."

Well, mostly its going to be for enjoying but yes I will delve into a little bit of everything with it. Im really interested in getting into some road racing, I would like to try out auto x but... with the engine/turbo I dont think it will be ideal for that :P But that will be after the motor etc... are all finished and I can work on getting some new rims/tires and suspension setup. Just taking it a step at a time!

No schedule really, just taking my time having fun! I am going to be very meticulous about everything, I have alot of projects lined up for it.

Well, the motor is torn down... The front housing and rotor look like they have bit the dust :p but otherwise everything looks good! In the pics everything is still dirty... now comes the fun part cleaning! lol, I will post some more pics after everything is cleaned up.

I'm thinking of rebuilding my engine myself as well. I will just do a streetport on mine but I do want to go single. Just everything at once will cost a fortune! My engine runs quite healthy, but I want to beat a possible catastrophe to the punch. I have a 1st gen racer that is willing to show me the ropes a bit.... makes it a little less stressfull.

Good luck with you build.... should haul!
