Engine oil smelling like gasoline

Engine oil smelling like gasoline
What could be the causes of this? I'm really worried that it could be a seal problem or something like that.
My car have been running good, but it's been running rich since the day I bought it...It's very intoxicating when I start it cold...I even have to start it a block away from my house so I don't bother my neighbor and her just born child.
Do you think that the car running rich could be the only cause for the gas mixing with the oil? I have around 200 miles on new oil and it already has some gas smell.
On a side note, my car only has 17,500 original miles, but it was boosting around 14psi on stock injectors and ECU when I bought it (now it's running 10psi), so I'm worried that it could have made some engine damage and that could be the cause of my problem.
Do you thing that a compression test will show me the truth? Or it won't show much of a difference to actually thingk there's an engine failure here?...I'm asking this because my mechanic said it won't show much difference if it were the seals failing.
Any ideas on what could be the problem or what to look for would be much appreciated...I'm still new with rotaries and don't know what to do
Thanks!

It is normal for most engine oils to have some gasoline contamination. Before you waste time chasing phantom causes, get a definitive answer on whether or not your contamination is excessive. Send an oil sample to Blackstone Labs for analysis the next time you change your oil. Go to their web site and request a free sample bottle. Not sure if international shipments of used oil samples would be a problem, however. Perhaps you can get the analysis done in Peru?

You should be able to find a similar oil analysis vendor in Peru.
I agree, the gas smell is not uncommon nor does it have much relation to the health of the engine. But it lowers the oil viscosity a lot, which can cause reduced lubrication.
