Engine Harness Connectors

I've spent the last couple of days searching through forum posts looking at thread after thread about Engine Harness Connectors. A common question seems to be, where can I get Connector "X" and/or what is the Part Number for Connector "X".

My understanding is that several people have sourced all of the connectors (with the possible exception of one or two). I also understand and appreciate the time it took to do so has value.

So...if anyone out there knows specific part #'s for any of the Engine Harness Connectors, please place them here. If you know them/have sources but are unwilling to share...that is fine. I'll be happy to buy connectors from you directly if you would be kind enough to PM me. I'm a DIY person and prefer to put together my personal harness on my own for the (frustration) experience.

Thanks!

I am unsure what harness connectors you are looking for but tri-point engineering has some.

None of those are for the ECU but still a great resource. It's all too easy to crush an OEM connector. It also bothers the **** out of me when I have a connector with a broken latch tab.

Would one of these help?

Well I'm aware of the actual manufacturer of the OEM connectors is mainly Sumitomo if I recall correctly and perhaps Yazaki. I believe TYCO and AMP(?) make aftermarket connectors that work as well.

I'm looking for new, not used. Hence looking for part #'s from these manufacturers. I know, for a fact, there are at least two people on the forums who know the manufacturer and part #'s for a good 90% of the connectors. Whether they will share that knowledge as they have businesses (or at one time did) profiting from creating custom harnesses, I do not know.

I was hoping someone would share but I'll start my hunt tomorrow by contacting a number of sources with pictures and descriptions.

dont know if this will help, i got my injector connectors from Ballanger Motorsports. also i got the crank angle sensor from C.Ludwig here on the forum.

http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/pro...roducts_id/571

also Ballanger has the ignition coil connectors, and the female connector that plugs into the fd map sensor harness if you want to make your own gm 3 bar map harness

Thank you sir! That is the type of info I am looking for. I understand some of these places want orders of at least 100 for the more rare connectors. I can probably work with that and am not opposed to buying a ton of connectors and supplying them to the community as long as no one is opposed to me making a buck or two on each connector since I'd be outlaying the cash in advance. =)

I bought Aeka GSR's last set of new connectors and pins after he stopped selling FD harnesses. I ended up not building my own harness and would be willing to sell the set as a whole if you're interested.

What makes it difficult is that the original manufacturers are not going to sell you the connectors in small volumes. It's not worth their time. You have to get them through a distributor or other smaller vendor. Myself and another user on here, Sandro, got Ballengar motorsports to start stocking the connector for the stock boost control solenoids. I'm sure they bought a bunch of them and figured they could resell the part because it is used on a lot of aftermarket solenoids as well (it is an AMP/Tyco part).

Do you have a proper connector crimper? This is very important for making a strong connection.

I can't vouch for that model but that's exactly the type of tool to use. I expect it to work well with automotive terminals.
