New pics...of my 7's engine install. The engine is NOW in place...all that's left is hooking up the motor mounts, driveshaft, some miscellaneous parts, and adding fluids.
On track for a final finish date of this SUNDAY! Woot!!! I hope it's going to be worth it...from the look of the latest pics...my goodness, yes!!! We're still waiting for the Racing Beat Dual Tip from the RX-7 Store....
Jeff grimacing at the sound of the impact wrench...notice the HKS downpipe with new 02 Sensor:

The fabled "Crutch of Unbelievable Lifting" makes it's return appearance...notice the towel covering the surprise...

They did a great job on the polishing...I think I want to polish a few parts, i.e., alternator, etc., but this is da shizzy!

I'm probably going to save up for an intercooler and intake as my last mods for a bit, and then just work on the appearance. I'll have to get used to the difference in power first, before I start going nuts.
I'll be satisified for quite awhile with this..it's like getting a new car practically.
Ya gotta remember, I'm coming from a a 190hp FWD (250 with nitrous) Celica before this.....it's a totally different beast..and I'm going to be really careful.
I've read too many "wrecked FD" stories to scare me enough...

Jeff is right on the money. I plan on babying the car. No way in heck I'm going to get on it without having it broken in and dyno-tuned. That's be extremely idiotic.
It'll be enough of a treat just hearing the engine rev to life...without the "old engine" sound. I want to feel that power there...ready..potent..just waiting to be released. It might be tough, but it's just like any break-in period for a new car.
Jeff has really worked hard on this whole project, and he enjoys this stuff so much. At first, I had no idea what to expect. I mean..I don't know him, hell, he doesn't know me...but in taking a chance, I've found a guy who cares alot about the quality of work he does on a car. That's really important to me, and the fact that's he's a great guy, who's willing to share his time and knowledge, has made it even better.
I don't think I could have gotten anywhere NEAR the quality, personalization, and care that Jeff has put into my car from any of the tuner shops in my area.
He's literally saved me time, money, and a helluva lotta headaches.
I can't wait to see all the hard work come to fruition. I've got a huge album of pics, all the stages that my 7 has been through and is going through. It's a real treat...

take your airpump off, and heat it with a heat gun and then coat it with black engine enamel
better yet, take it off and chuck it right in the garbage can where it belongs, along with all the emissions paraphenalia....put some shiny new greddy pulleys on there
so, angel, how much does all this joy cost? just curious....my R&R was $1100 plus some misc stuff, including a new ACT clutch....the vacuum hose job was $180 (not bad)...the streetported reman engine with teflon seals was $2700....it all adds up, real quick
I broke mine in for 300 miles of constantly varying the throttle and then put some Mobil 1 15w-50 in and let her rip....the new engine rocks and she keeps getting stronger with every heat cycle....I need to get on a dyno but it's been no contest with the F-bodies
who says you need a PFC to do 330 hp? I'm betting they are all wrong

No problem, Jeff..can't wait!
Welps...I'm very cautious about the emissions, because I'm moving to the UK..so I still need to keep alot of it on to pass their emissions tests.
The joy costs quite a penny...but I believe it's very well spent....I'm enjoying every bit of it. Let's just say I've spent alotta cash.
I really tried to get every weak link covered...
So how much power are you putting down, YZF? Those are definetly the right types of mods...
It's nice to hear from people that have traveled the same road..and their experiences.
