Is this endplate ok...pics

The face of the end plate is completely smooth, even over the wear tracks. but there are some funny grey marks on it, might be dirt but wont come off with a clean dry cotton cloth - dont want to put chemicals on it though as im not sure what will damage it. Sorry the photos are a little hard to see, but look hard and youll see the dull areas.

plates came from acar with unknown mileage sold as "good" by a reputable RX7 tuner/builder

is this ok?

pictures arent going to give any real answers. you need a dial gauge and the factory specs and some free time to measure everything if you want to be 100% sure.

Big thing is grooving - if there are any grooves on the surface that your fingernail can catch in, you can't use it. Also, double-check the coolant passages - they're pretty funky. Otherwise it looks fine.

The surface will discolor over time - that's no big deal. The rotors don't care what color the irons are .

Thanks dale, much appreciated!

i have a dial indicator but forgot to order the magnetic base...doh! Can anyone think of anything i can mock up?

The irons are totally flat, i can't even feel the grooves with my tongue (lol) so i guess they are fine.

Coolant passages are a little rusted, but that will al be getting cleaned thoroughly.
