emissions, denatured alcohol and air pumps

Ok, so my exh. setup is usually a DP, MP and CB.

for NC emssions i put the main cat back on.

failed emissions, with a HC reading of 1324 (limit is 220).

i changed plugs (BUR9EQP), realized i had forgot to reconnect the airpump, and put in 1 gallon of denatured alcohol to 4 gallons of fuel.

retest and my HC dropped to 62! damn.
also, my CO reading was zero (before it was like 24 or something, with a limit of 12, i believe).

so, basically, this is for reference for people with emissions problems. obviously, because i forgot to connect the airpump the first time, i have no idea the extent to which the alcohol played in helping me pass.

actually, my CO % reading was originally 3.83% with a limit of 1.2%
after the changes, it was 0.0% (zero)

My CO2 went from 9.4% to 13.3%

I took a hose from my air pump directly to my exhaust. Passed with flying colors
