EFini Y Pipe Install. How Hard???

Greetings all,

I have visited the Rob Robinette site about the
Efini Y pipe installation. How much time it take to
install the damn thing??

Any advise on the installing process??

Thank you
Serge

pretty easy....... just take out air box, stock ypipe, air pump( makes very easy!) and then the second turbo air inlet( got to get underneath car and take of 2 10mm bolts ) people claim to just wiggle it out you can try but good luck? then comes the cross over tube with hoses attached disconnect good time to put silicon hoses as replacment....after that every thing is accesible and easy from there just bolt everything in and take for drive no difference unless stock one is riped or crack

It isnt' that bad. Just follow the instructions he has written and you will be ok. I did have a little difficulty getting the two y-pipe halves together at the o-ring. The first time I was trying it the new o-ring got sliced apart so I had to use the old one. So be careful on that part. I also did mine without taking out the air pump and it wasn't that hard still.

And actually I think there is an airflow difference. The new crossover tube is now bigger and better turned. I believe Mazda states a 10 hp increase. Not sure if that is true though.

Speaking of y-pipe, I just took mine in to get polished. Man, I can't wait to get it back.

I couldn't get the damn thing off without taking off the 2nd turbo inlet. Well, to get that off first (the 10mm nuts) you better have small hands OR have a DP, because the old precat made it a bitch to get up in there from under the car. Once that is off, the Y-pipe is a breeze.

recommending replacing the gaskets and studs....be careful with those studs if you plan on reusing them....torque them properly
