Efini turbo upgrade no boost need help

Just installed a new efini turbo on a 93. Also removed the smog pump at the same time with a larger water pump and alt pulley. The car starts and idles great. No smoke after the initial oil burn off (no apparent vac leaks). However, when driving the car, the I can not get boost. Goes from 15 to 20 vac to 0. Absolutely no boost. But the car is extremely smooth.

I'm not sure where I went wrong. Possibly in removing the smog pump. Two large (3/4") tubes coming from behind the intake. The upper appears to go to open air while the lower went to the pump. I was told to leave those open.

Also I unpluged the gray male connector from the pump and left it sitting. Confusingly, in the same area is a blue female connector that will accept that male plug....I did not try to run the car but it fits perfectly. Any one know what thats for?

The bypass valves appear to work (tested w vac. was blocked until vac). Does it matter which direction or which one is with which turbo? I went with arrow in the direction of letting out boost.

The plate in the exit tube of the two turbos moved when I put vac to it. So I don't think that is loosing boost to the other side.

I do not understand the wastegate area or preontrollers. Or how to ck. ...i know there is a 7lb spring and when satisfied, boost is let off. 'm not sure how the booost is bled off to get higher boost. Maybe in this are???????????????

Any thoughts???

Here's the troubleshooting guide:

I would first start with checking the y-pipe. Make sure its completely sealed and not leaking. Next, make sure the crossover to the IC connection is not leaking as well. After those have been verified, I would start working through the Troubleshooting guide.

The blue female connector is for use in California cars which have an electric psition switch on the EGR valve. So not related your problem.
