I talked to the seller before and things just got more and more sketch untill i realized it was all a scam and the seller wouldnt contact me. So now the car is back up on ebay... so check it out and email the guy if you want just to see what he says to you...
he told me he was in the UK, and that he had bought a US spec car and couldnt get it registered....

Definitely hacked. I wish there was a way to "report this auction to ebay" or something.

Hehe - just went through the items that userID recently bought. Various Far East paraphenalia and old money/coins. If he was really an FD owner, he would be buying parts .

here is what I got out of him..
Hi,
Good faith has always been my top priority and my most valued business approach. This is why I chose to be affiliated at eBay Square Trade. I have with them a purchase protection account for $25,000 US. This money is for refunding my customers in case they are not satisfied with my selling activity. I am a reputable eBay seller and my selling standards are very high compared with other eBay sellers.Payment will be done by cash money transfer and will be supervised by Ebay. The finacial part of this deal will be manage by them. They are acting like a third party in this deal. They will keep the payment details until you receive it and test it.This is the only and the best way for each of us to let the transaction happen and that is because other ways take too much time. You will send the payment details to Ebay and as soon as I have the confirmation from ebay and they tell me that the payment is made i will send you the car. After you receive and inspect the car you will send a second confirmation to ebay so they will send me the information regarding the transfer and i will get my money. Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the package. If you agree with these terms, send me your full name and address and your ebay user ID and i will be more than glad to start to complete the transaction with you.I must tell you that I will sell this car to the first interested buyer
who will agree with the buy it now price set and who will provide that personal details that I want and need in order to proceed with this deal....so, I reserve the right to end this auction earlier.
Thank you and I hope that you will have the pleasure to drive this car as i did.
Best Regards!

weird?! my friend was lookin into buying a 04 sti cheap (like 11 grand) from a guy who said he and his family moved to the uk, lost his job, and needs money quick. well...it kinda sounds like this guy. my friend was talking to him a lot and he was requesting instand money transfers over anything else. my friend told him he was just gonna come and pay with cash and then the guy stopped responding back. complete scam................

With your ebay ID and your full name and address it might also be possible for him to try and scam someone at ebay support into sending a reminder password or resetting your password to something else under the guise that it was forgotten and the email no longer valid.... Could also be how he gets new accounts to scam from.

the scams are pretty easy to spot. I saw one that i was pretty sure was a scam, it was full of holes. For one the car was said to be in like florida but the plate said ohio. 2 i emailed the guy twice and both times i got back the exact same automated reply that spoke of sending the money through western union rahter than paypal to like some middle eastern country. and on top of that teh auction said to email a 3rd party address because his ebay address "didnt work". HAH so easy to spot! Damn shame is that ebay will never catch all these little bastards and they will keep flooding the site with that crap. Just gotta be smart about it. One of my buddies purchased an FD from ebay for like 7 grand while he was serving in Iraq. Needless to say he never got the car or his 7 grand back.

i remember something like this...when i was lookin for a car i saw a guy sellin one in the UK for 5k...looked flawless...but there were a few sketchy things...he told me he would pay for shipping...also the only form of money he would take was western union...and that was it...as soon as i heard that, i knew it was bullshit

get checks from these guys, then prosecute as far as you can
the best way is to avoid internet based "fraud authorities" and contact the local police department. Although many towns think of it as a joke, at least small towns. A kid in my home town got caught (because someone finally called the local police department) and they left him off after he gave the guys money back, even though they had proof of his extensive history of scams. They joked with him about it, probably because they're so backwards they see the internet as some sort of evil. I couldn't believe it, I thought he was going away for a while.
At least it straightened him up.
*Bottom line is that these scams are pathetic and not very well thought out. If you fall for them you don't deserve to keep your money.
