ebay pulley kits

theres a few threads about them but thought i would give my reveiw. 120-30 whatever for the greddy kit is retarded, its good stuff but cmon its all fairly overpriced and i have enough to know. dont usually cheap out but gave these a try.

pulleys seem just fine. i got a kit with the belt and i wouldnt suggest that one since it seems like a cheap quality belt and i saw some way cheaper kits without one. also seems like its not really on there tight, not sure if i messed something up but im definintly getting something else.
i dont believe there should be a tensioner or anything on that side, there isnt on the stock stuff with the air pump. i figured sliding on the water pump pulley would push it slightly and tighten it up. is that correct? if so belt is just a bit too long.

heres a link to the exact set i purchased

and a pic on the car

most pully kits dont come with belts that offer proper tension. the best replacement belt would be the one made by pineapple

Most pulley kits do come with belts that offer proper tension. Where did you hear that that they don't?

The belt you received... is it a bando belt? If so, it will work just fine. I have been running the same one for around 5 years. It's the best fitting belt I have found and is the same as the replacement belt that most of the rotary specific places sells. I have taken the belt to the part store to purchase a few several times and have never been able to get one that fits just right. It's a rather odd size. Enjoy all that extra room in your engine bay.

The pineapple replacement belt will not work with your application btw... it is a different air pump replacement kit.

why would the pineapple belt not work? its also the same belt that can be used instead of greddy. the reason most belts dont offer the right tension is cause they are slightly to large. they dont grip the water pump pully tight enough which can limit its supply to the block. causing the engine to overheat

I've prob. installed 10+ of these if not more using the supplied belt on customers cars and have never had a problem with a single one. What's your experience with them? What you have read on the forum? Pineapples kit is completely different than the Greddy kit... and if you are referring to the Yoohoo belt that they sell, that is not the correct belt either for the Greddy application.

yup from what i understand the pineapple yoohoo belt is just to prevent slippage but is not a drive belt in and of itself. although, i wonder how they accomplish fitting both drive and yoohoo belt on/around the same pulley..

The Pineapple "yoohoo" belt is for FC's - it WILL NOT work on FD's. FC's use multiple V-belts, instead of the multi-rib serpentine belts the FD uses.

Banzai Racing has you covered on belts - all sizes, just pick what pullies you have and get the right belt for a very fair price.

If you're a real cheapskate - like me - you can use this 4-rib belt from Summit. I'm sure that Banzai's belt #3 is a better fit, but the cheap one seems fine so far.

iv had this for over a year in a half now maybe 2, and iv had no problems. the one i got was $30.00 shipped with no belt but i also bought a belt for about $17.00 so total cost was around 47ish much cheaper than the greddy and looks better than the blue imo... just my .02

Seriously, As long as the pulley is made to spec, not out of round, and is of a decent material... then a pulley is a pulley. If it serves the purpose, then it is a successful mod. The only difference between paying $50 bucks to get a job done and $100 is the price if each method works in an identical fashion.

My friend won a set of the SR pulleys at sevenstock 8. He sold them to me for $50 (the cost of his raffle tickets). They look nice. I think they are WAY overpriced though.
