duty purge valve (sv)

i broke a nipple off a sensor.. putting the UIM back on after replacing egr, air intake sensor, and all coolant hoses (so much fun 1st timer) ok everything went back on great besides a tube that goes from UIM to a sensor below the trottle cable hook up on the UIM its a hose with a metal check valve. it goes from the UIM to a metal check valve to a sensor..than to a catch tank? what is this sensor.. and whats the cost from malloy mazda thanks the sensor is held on the on bolt and has two fittings (nipples) for hoses..

It's not a sensor, it's a valve. It's controlled by a duty cycle from the ECU - the purpose is to bring gas fumes from the gas tank into the engine to be burned.

I have NO idea what it would be from Ray new, but it's very likely a dime a dozen used. It's the Purge Control Valve.

Probably about $60 new just like any other solenoid. A used one is just fine, IMO.

Its for the evaporative emmissions system. I just passed emissions testing without it, I did the exact same thing - broke it off, didn't take much, the vacuum line was so rock hard the nipple broke off, I just plugged the check valve and just let the solenoid vent to atmosphere. I haven't seen any problems so far but, would like to hook it back up.

Wow, I just snapped mine today as well.

I'm going to remove it and cap off the required lines...
