drooping rear-view mirror

Anyone have a fix, other than purchase a new or used one ?

Also, is there a way to get a racing "wink" rear-view mirror and still use the visors, or do I have to go with just a longer center mirror (replacement or clip-on) ?

Thanks,
:-) neil

On my car one of the tiny screws that hold the mounting plate to the windshield was missing. Replacing that, and tightening the screw that mounts the mirror to that plate fixed everything. No more wobble, or actually falling off in my case...

Unfortunately, mine is dropping at the ball-joint/swivel.

It only does it when it's hot here in Florida, which is 7-months out of the year!

I've seen that on other FD's, it's a pretty rare problem. I'd just get a good used mirror and be done with it.

Gordon, do you have any pics to show how it looks installed in a FD ?

Can you PM me a source ? I found it new for list of $400+, discounted to $360!

Yikes!

On another note, did you pick up the "package" I left for you at my condo concierge?

I'd be very interested to know if other rear view mirrors will mount on the stock mount but positioned higher on the glass. Being a tall guy the stock mirror blocks too much of the windshield for my tastes (and safety).

I'm going to try some Miata and RX8 mirrors since they are cheap and plentiful at the junk yard . . .

This is what I replaced my dropping mirror with, cheaper then a stock one, but not as cheap as junk yard stuff.

At least I now have auto dimming , helps when trucks are driving behind you.

It is also double ball jointed, so I can move it higher (but then it moves the mirror closer) or angle it down/up with no issues. Really nice upgrade for me.
