Outside mirrors: rotate mirror head from base, apply light Loctite, tighten screws & rotate head back to place.

will this still work?

enough with the retarded comments about the music....
there should be a screw in rear view mirror, theres a small hole in the back. tighten that one.
on the outside mirror, rotate the whole mirror so its pointing down and you should see some screws that you can tighten. i have the same problem with my drivers mirror, except my problem is the little "gasket" that goes between the mirror and the base broke a piece off the end, so it needs to be replaced.

I have the same problem with mine. Mine rattles with just the engine vibration and road. I tried tightening down the screws behind the mirror, but I think it's the actual mirror itself that is rattling.
POS car is falling apart on me.

too much vibration, dyno matt if you have subs should help. for other ones like if you have a low muffler try putting cotton in your door to dampen it or some kind of padding.

my drivers side view mirror came out when i was doing 80 mph and the wire to the motors where the only thing preventing it from flying away. it was literally flopping in the wind.
i see there are four screws that should attach to the copperish thing inside the mirror housing...but of course i can't get a screwdriver in to tighten them because the actual "mirror" is in the way. i know pics would help but i'm at work now...
how do i remove the actual "mirror" from its backing plate? that would allow me to screw the backing plate into the mirror housing, then i could put the actual "mirror" back onto the mounting plate. hard to explain. anyone with experience with this?

there is a thermal adhesive--take a heat gun and pass the hot air over the mirror until the glue soften...be careful as it gets very HOT...I burned myself doing this once! Also, FYI its in the FSM!

My passenger side is also kind of loose also. One of the screws that is used to tighten the assembly has backed itself out and is now sitting between the two pieces that swivel. So guess what. It doesn't swivel. On rough roads it bugs the crap out of me, I can hardly make out the cars coming up on that side. I have talked to a couple of people and no one has a clue on how to get to the screw without breaking the thing apart.
