downpipe, midpipe, resonator and catback ex.. how loud will it get?

hi guys
i just have a quick question
i am planning to put a downpipe. midpipe, resonator and catback exhaust...
how loud will my fd be?
i have rhd jdm rx7 with a blitz air intake, cat converter and knight sports catback exhaust with a resonator right before exhaust.... and my fd sounds fairly normal.. nothing loud....

and now i want to install a downpipe and midpipe with no cat converter
will my fd be to loud???
thanx
anees

also your going to need to worry about boost creep, and it also depends on what catback you have, i have dp,magnaflow res mid and rb dual and its not loud unless you get on it

A lot of it depends on the catback, I have a downpipe and a full titanium 94mm downpipe back feed exhaust. Nice and deep, not too loud except at WOT or above 5k and no problem with boost creep. You will be fine.

maybe he will be one of the lucky few who doesnt have boost creep, but its also better to warn him about it, i have boost creep, but i got my car tuned to 18psi so my controller is set to 15-16psi and creeps to 18 very quickly

Mahjik there are soo many dead links in that thread it isn't funny

I was hoping to hear the differences between a resonated midpipe and a straight midpipe!

Did you look at the dates of the posts (i.e. don't expect those to be around for 7-8 years)? Check the clips at the end of the thread.

I run a Pettit cat-back and resonated midpipe and the car is loud at full throttle. I always wear earplugs, regardless, because it makes the car more pleasant to drive and I value my hearing (I know too many people who didn't and now they pay the price).

You do not want to run a straight midpipe under any circumstances on the street!

Send your turbos to David Garfinkle, he'll take care of it

I have an M2 downpipe and straight through mid pipe to a Racing Beat cat back. For everyday driving and idle the cars volume is very tolerable, at full throttle with cannon fire ***** is a different story

me and Bryan (if i remember his name correctly) the guy who makes the BNR agreed before i bought the turbos that the creep is beneficial, it gets to my target psi and doesnt creep anymore after that.

i am not afraid about boost creep
because .. i dont know why . but my boost hits 10-11 psi pretty instantly
i have knight sports ebc 111 boost controller and flashed ecu by knight sports as well

i am just worried wat if my car gets to loud
cops wont like me
plus i also have resonated pipe right before the ksp attain catback
so i am guessing that it shouldnt be that loud??

I have a non resonated mid pipe with the regular JDM down pipe and a cat back and mine sends small children and women screaming at WOT. Most of my friends say its a bit loud but I usually drive with the A/C on and don't have any problem with the noise with the windows up I am thinking of adding a stainless Borla resonator to my mid pipe when I get some spare cash. I also get pretty bad boost creep. I have the PFC set to 10psi and it will spike to 14 when I floor it. I'm going to have to port my waste gate. If I had the $$ Id upgrade to BNRs and just upgrade my fuel system and run 14psi.

I also have a RHD FD, and i'm in the same boat with anees. My car came with Autoexe jasma catback and PFC, ARC intake. I can't wait to put these mods this spring, WB, resonated MP, and HKS DP....hopefully the rest of the supporting mods by summer. As of rite now, i really like the sound of my exhaust. I have a buddy is running HKS carbon TI catback, resonated MP, and DP, and it's very loud for my taste.

Dangerous.

Lack of solid boost control is one of the best ways to kill your engine.

Yea I know. I'm not driving it like that at all right now. I need to port my waste gate and then tune my PFC properly. I've only done the safety tune to it because of the boost spike.

If you put an exhaust silencer in it will probly hold boost kinda like a ristrictor plate.

I have a restrictor plate in it now. I do have a smaller one I have to try but will probably end up porting the wastegate anyway. I'm busy now doing fiberglass repair to my r magic bumper and front fenders

I've got 3" dp, mp with a RS*R catback and it's not to loud, I actually think it's too quiet...i'll probably be switching to a Buddy Club Spec II in the future or a PFS single cause I like how they sound
