Door handle scratch cure?

Screw that...just take them off, strip them, prime them, paint them, buff them and then put like 2-3 coats of clearcoat on them, then buff them out again. Mine were faded and scratched and I did this. Though the paint job came out less professionally than I'd expected (well, I'm not a professional painter, so I guess that stands to reason), I'm still *really* glad I did it. It took some time and effort to strip them down, but they look good now.
If I had it to do over again? I'd take them to a paint shop and have them stripped/painted for me. It'd be easier than doing it yourself, and would probably be ~$100, which is probably worth the professional job.
Putting stuff like the carbon overlay on it is retarded...first of all, your entire door plate is not carbon, why try to make it look like it? If you're going to do that, just have it made out of carbon for real, or titanium or something. Secondly, it's just a sticker, so what makes us think that it's not just going to fade like one? Carbon doesn't have any magical immunity to the sunlight, so what gives? And lastly once this sticker gets scratched up, how are you going to fix it? It's unlikely that it'll take a buffing without some damage, so you'll just have to live with the scratches. *sigh*
I could go on and on, but I'll spare you all the drama

Whoa...powder coating...completely slipped my mind. Screw the paint, go w/ the powder coat. Not sure about coating the actual handle though as it's plastic. Ask Batman, he's a powder coating maniac.

Why not just use the stock piece as a mold and make a CF piece that just layes over top of the existing handle? It really wouldn't be that hard. Hmmm I need to find some spare time.

They market carbon fiber door handle & the fwd triangle section on the door by the mirrors.
They made from real carbon inlay, like the carbon dash kits.
I have the whole set on my car, but left my camera at work. Othewise I would have included a pic.
Priced under $150 for the whole set, if I remember correctly.
