Does side plate wear= low compression
If the front, middle and rear plates are worn would this cause low compression?
My last rebuild only ever had 60psi cranking compression and i am wondering if it was due to a combination of worn plates, one piece corner seals and 3mm apex seals.
I am looking at having my plates lapped and cermet coated, but is it worth the cost?
Thanks for any input

Rotorhousings and apex seals are the single biggest contributor to compression quality. Irons, side seals, and corner seals normally wear very little and even a set of irons with a few thousandths of step wear will still seal up just fine when used with good rotorhousings and new apex seals.

No flame war, he started some **** and I ended it. My challenge has been declined once again.
I feel you shouldnt talk like you know everything there is to know about it if you've never personally done it. Leave it to someone who has. IT'd be about the same as me explaining to you how it feels to ride in the space shuttle...sure, I can read about it on the internet and even watch videos, but that doesnt mean I have a ******* clue about what it's really about. SO I obviously have no business whatsoever trying to tell you about it when I havent done it myself. And even if I did ride once in it, I still wouldnt know as much as someone who had done so 100 times.
