Does this look okay to you? *oil pressure

Hey guys im slightly worried about my oil pressure at idle.

Here are all the stats: first pic shows air/fuel ratio and boost level. Second pic shows exhaust temp, oil pressure (psi) and apexi

Same again but at around 3000rpm (in neutral)

Thanks for any advice/info

In my opinion your oil pressure is low, I would say there is an issue somewhere, either the gauge, pump, regulator or the o-ring at the front cover. FSM spec is a min of 50psi at 3000 rpm, I usually see closer to 90psi and 30+psi at idle with oil at operating temp.

Also your water temps are high, 95C & 97C without any load. Are your fans functioning correctly? Do you have the PFC programmed to turn them on at a lower temp? I usually set them at 87C.

Your lack of oil pressure could also be part of your high coolant temp issue, since the radiator is having to work harder to keep the temps down.

I would first worry whether or not that aftermarket no-brand oil pressure gauge is giving a correct reading. What does the gauge on the dash say?

As stated, you should be seeing 30psi at idle, 50-60 at 3000 RPM.

Oil pressure problems are moreso from assembly problems with the engine than with the engine "going out". The factory system is very hardy, unless somehow you magically pump a lot of trash through the system and mess up the oil pump or bearings. Even then, I've seen bad oil pumps maintain pressure just fine.

That said, I suspect the gauge more than anything else. Get a mechanical gauge, hook it up under the hood, and test in your driveway. If it's OK, get a new sender for the stock gauge and ditch that aftermarket gauge.

So at 3000rpm my oil pressure seems to read fine?

The standard gauge in the dash is faulty.

Maybe i will invest in a better gauge/sensor as i only paid £20 for the kit from eBay.

Also, would the fact that the ECU/engine needs mapping after IC/non sequential mods have any effect?

Remap is next on the list but i dont want to go on the rollers etc until im satisfied with my oil pressure.

if the gauge in the dash is faulty, and your aftermarket guage isnt reading any better....

clean the wire going to the sending unit. Its right under the oil filter.

if that doesnt help, then you need a new sending unit.

how is your gauge hooked up? what source does it get its signal from?
