The diff. case & oil pan should not used as jacking points.

I hope he was trying to indicate the cross member. Now, i know its not right but i have jacked my Fd on its diff. housing for 14 years.

Um, why not just get this info from the FSM?

You can even open it in the garage and drop it a few times w/o breaking the laptop screen.

Im pretty sure the service manual says to jack on the crossmember/front subframe and diff...

I use the diff and theres no problems...

There's nothing wrong with jacking the car up from the diff case, just use an aluminum jack or a pad to prevent fin deformation.

If you guys are worried about causing damage then use a wooden block or a bunch of dirty shop towels under the jack to the diff.
