Differences In R2 Vs Touring 3rd Gen

What are the main differences guys in these 2 '94 models of the rx-7. What I do know? is that the r2 has a sport suspension package but what does that exactly mean? Is that a couple of strut tower bars and lower braces or what? According to a website I stumbled upon the touring completes the quarter mile in 14.5 and 0-60 times in 6sec, as opposed to the r2 that does it in 14.1 and 5.3sec. This is a pretty substancial difference. If you are familiar please explain the reasons for this and also any/all differences between the 2 models, that as far as I know contain identical motors. thanks.

Do a search.

short list: R2: front strut bar, front lip (std), rear spoiler (std), no sunroof, suede seats, no auto tranny, stiffer shocks, stickier stock tires, 2nd oil cooler.

the different 1/4 mile times you are seeing look more like the differences between an manual vs. automatic tranny. the auto was an option for the base or the touring, but not available at all for the R2.

Touring models are very slow and have shitty reliability... R1's are bulletproof. I don't think that touring models were turbo'd either.
