Did the US only get 2 seater RX7's? sorry bit of a noob question
hi read a few builds from the US and i saw that a couple people said they have rare rear seats?? which got me confused as i'm in Aus.
reason why was i'd love to get rid of my rear seats for rear bins if thats what the US came with

They may look cool to some folks, but take it from a owner(92 JDM) I'd rather have the bins. If you every want to relocated.... say your battery, the trunk is now your only option.
I weight 185 lb. and could never fit in the back seat without removing the fronts! and even then there so deep 15 minutes sitting in them would cut off all circulation to the lower half of my body. I call my back seats my water bottle holder because thats all there good for, but it does give that area a nice finished look.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
I had bins and MUCH prefer the seats. The bins are a big hard plasticy thing, and are SUPER space inefficient compared to the room they take up. I find the rear seats to be a better place to store "stuff" than the bins ever were. Of course, you cant store your battery in them, but backpacks, coolers, jackets, etc etc sit back there much better. It doesn't hurt that someone can also sit back there if absolutely required. (say their car breaks down and they need picked up? )
If you guys wanting bins saw inside of the storage "bin" you'd understand what I mean. For some reason the bucket that stuff sits in is tiny compared to the available area underneath the bin.

Yeah i just like the look of the bins. If you can ever find the whole set it goes for about $300-400 over here in Aus. Would be about the same in delivery though I guess to try swap someone from the US to Aus and I would t know how to work out a swap mite be risky.

pretty sure it was an option but no one bought into it nor do i think the salesmen tried to sell it with the option.
the 2nd gens had the option as well but i would guess that between 1-3% of all FCs purchased were bought with that option. that is why they are rare even for the FC but the FCs had about literally 50 times more cars produced in that 5 year span. so if an FD was bought with them then it is quite rare. auto FDs for example probably make up about 5-8% of the FD population for example and would be more than twice as common.
this is just based on my personal experience and guesstimates so don't take it literally, i have not seen an FD with rear seats yet.
my FC TII was special ordered with manual steering, virtually every other i have seen it was changed by the owner to manual.
