Details on a R-Magic ECU?

Sup guys. New here. I scored an R-Magic ECU form a local salvage yard. The FD was definitely tuned. Can't find too much info on the ECU though. There's one on eBay right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

I have the Re-Amemiya chipped ECU and it's set up to work with open air filters and open exhaust. Boost is around 14psi.

Almost all of those remapped ECU's are ment to work with aftermarket filters, exhaust and IC...

Thes question is, can your injectors supply enough fuel?

In theory, yes.

But I only drive with my re-mapped ecu for a limited period because when I can afford it I am definitely going for either the apexi pfc or greddy e-manage ultimate

Your best bet would be to check for some kind of R-Magic serial or id number on the ECU and contact them.

I currently have a Pettit ECU and it too is tuned for intake, DP, MP, etc. To be safe, I installed an Innovative wideband, and at WOT up to 8k RPM on all gears, I am getting constant 10.9 up to 11.3 AFR. Sure its enough fuel, but several people have pointed out that while I am getting enough fuel, my duty cycles are above 90% and who knows how long it will last.

BTW, I spike up to 15psi and come down right away to 14psi and stay there until redline.

One thing that no one has answered yet, does altitude play a big role?

Your thinner air in El Paso is the reason your not spiking higher than what you already are. You could possibly really be near your limits if you where on the coast. 14 psi could easily turn into 15 or even 16psi with more oxygen feeding into the engine. In this case you wouldn't have enough fuel and will seriously run the risk of maxing your injectors if you try to correct for the leaner mixture.

Correct me if I am wrong, but 15 psi is 15 psi, correct? What matters is that at 15 psi, someone at sea level, is cramming more oxigen than someone at 3000 ft at the same boost level. If I am incorrect, then someone with the same setup as me, as you say, spikes up to 16psi?

Thanks

Thanks

15lbs of hot air .vs 15lbs of cold air;
there are more oxygen molecules in colder air.

I agree with that. So in theory, it is "safer" to boost up to 14-15 psi at 3000ft that it is to do the same at sea level. That is why everyone freaks out, LOL.
