That is the Pettit 99 spec bumper. Fitment is great and very high quality. Only good things to report on it and it has been on the car for 5 years.

Those are PLX Devices gauges:

http://plxdevices.com/imfd.html

I have 8 sensor modules connected to the two PLX OLED displays. The pods are from Pettit Racing. Here is a writeup of the PLX gauges:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/plx-gauges-install-review-859426/

They are pretty trick.

Specs on your 20b?? Dyno numbers??

Overall your car is awesome...I especially love the led's, it gives the car an updated feel. I can't say I like the rear overfenders; as they look somewhat outta place and kill fd's body lines...

It's not cheap but it is very good quality. I was afraid of putting on a fiberglass bumper but I have to say it has held up really well. And it doesn't droop like some of the other molds I have seen.

Kai, your car is beautiful like it is. I love what you have done.

555 WHP and 479 ft. lbs. of torque at 12 PSI. Engine built by Jesus Padilla and Kilo Racing. Center assembly balanced by CLR Motorsports in Miami and T78 BB turbo. We dynoed the car about one month ago but had problems turning up the boost. Turns out we had the wrong spring in the Synapse wastegate so Kilo Racing is swapping this out and I'll redyno in a few weeks at 18 PSI. Should be at least in the mid 600 WHP range.

Regarding the rear flares, to each his own. I love them and happen to think it improves the body lines of the FD and I bought the car new in 1994 so I have had time to think about it. And I thought I'd get more haters of the LEDs than what has happened. I did drive next to an Audi R8 two days ago and I must say, I like my FD better. Too bad I was driving the wife's Miata at the time or I would have tried to have a little fun.

At least in the mid-600whp range @ 18psi? I think you're severely underestimating what your car is capable of, but time will tell. The dyno plot was heading up fast and linear and Jesus was only at what, 5500 or 6000rpm @ 12-14psi, and he'll probably tune to 7,500-8,000? Unless your motor starts to outflow your turbo, sending it out of its efficiency range (remember ?RedR1? with the Mandeville built 20b R2? He ran out of turbo and cooked his in under 2000 miles), I'm going to bet (and hope) that you'll be at least in the 700's @ 18psi.

Didn't want to play with the R8? It would have been fun!

When we were hanging out, you said that there won't be many cars that will be much of a challenge. I found a tuner out of Sarasota whose cars may give you a run for its money. Beware of anything that has a "Heffner" sticker or plate frame anywhere on it. We had one of his Gallardos in at work, and it's a freaking rocket.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...specialty_file

G'luck with the tune, and have fun with it!

My feeling is it is better to underestimate and be pleased with the results than to expect big numbers and not hit them. I do think we'll do well regardless and you are right, there was plenty more HP than what we last achieved.

I would have loved to play with the R8 but I didn't think the wife's Miata was up to the challenge. Seems like I only find the cool cars when I am not driving the 20B. The 20B seems to attract all of the Mustangs and Civics in Jax

And that is a feaking cool Lambo conversion. Nice power. I'll have to look for the name before jumping on it with one of them!

That's the way to look at it.

I mis-read that you were in the Miata. I read it as you were in the 20b, but wanted to give the R8 a chance with the Miata.

Did you watch the video associated with the article? The car sounds evil. If you stumble across one, see if you can get it to run you and post the results.

Stock hood, modified to allow for better airflow.

A bit of an update: Scottie posted up an article on the car:

http://punisheddynamics.com/blog/?p=363

Did I really go thru all of that to make this project happen?

Should be seen on another site soon also

Hey David,

Can't remember if you're still running the stock FD tranny? If so, aren't you pushing the upper end of it's power handling capability?? Just curious. Congrats again. It's been a long haul and no one deserves the positive outcome more than you!

Yes, it's a recently rebuilt stock tranny and yes, it is pushing the limits.

We're going to be in the high 600 WHP to low 700s when we dyno next which will but torque in the 500+ range so that is quite a bit of stress on the tranny. When (note I didn't say if) it goes, I'll look into a T56 or something else. I'm going to twist bewtew's arm to drive his 20B at DGRRX as he has a T56 so I'll see what it is like. I'm not a drag racer but more of an autocross guy so this should keep some of the abuse off the tranny for now.

My dream setup would be a 6 speed, paddle shifter system.

David after all you went through with this car, do you ever find yourself getting "giddy" over the anticipation of driving it around? I know I would. Hell I get a bit of goose bumps just looking at the damn pictures. I can't wait to see this thing in person at DGRR.

Yes, yes and hell yes! I pick it up from Kilo Racing in two weeks so I have a chance to pamper it a bit before DGRRX. Just got in a GoPro HD car video camera that I can't wait to play around with.
