I am a locksmith ( dales locksmith friend ) and we cut keys by code for 15.00 -20.00. Pm if you have any questions about rekeying locks. I have not cut the new GA titanium keys but I have highly calibrated equipment that will cut these keys... I will make a point to cut one to my car this week and I will film the process so everyone can see what is involved.

In j9fd3s' post above, the part is labeled 60-436.Some time back I bought some bolts from McMaster-Carr that replaced the ignition cylinder bolts with stainless Allen head bolts. At this point I don't really see a need for having the tamper-proof bolts there but it is worth doing to keep the car original.

Nice! I didn't know those bolts were available, never thought about it.

You can call his shop, Ace Unlocks - 850-505-7545. His name is Jon, if he's not in the shop talk to one of the guys there and tell him what you need and they can get a message to Jon. They all are car guys and know he has an RX-7.

Hardware stores won't do a good job of making a key for you, you really need to work with a proper locksmith on the job.
Jon said the titanium keys do require a slower cut to do properly.

Thanks, I meant to put something about the valet key but it slipped my mind. Those keys are mostly all gone and lost to history for the majority of the cars out there.
Also, I believe the cars originally came with a small metal tag on the factory key ring that had the 5-digit key code stamped on it. Again, lost to history for most of the cars out there.
At this point if you need a key blank I'd opt for the Garage Alpha blanks. The OEM blanks are excellent but I'd support GA, they are doing some fantastic work. No relationship with them just a happy customer.
Even when the cars were relatively new keys breaking or bending was somewhat common. The original keys were long and I think it just put a lot of unwanted stress on them.

US cars have the key code engraved on the passenger (right side) door lock cylinder. Not sure which side lock has the code on a RHD car. If you don't want to pull your door locks, you might be able to have a dealer look up the code from your VIN; this assumes the locks are still original.

Yep, I think there was a valet key that wouldn't open the hatch and glove box/storage bins. Your best bet is as stated - get a key cut by the key code or VIN.

Key lock sensor
I was unable to open my door from inside the car so I decided to try to remedy this issue. After taking out the door panel I had to take out the door handle. Romove the round clip that was holding the lock. Then I wanted to take the lock out. The lock has a white clip and I broke off one of the pieces that held the lock in it(image attached) where can I find this piece? This door issue stemmed from an after market alarms door actuator. To say the least the actuator went out. Tech didn’t do the best job and I’d say my door cable are mangled. Just trying to be able to open my door with a key. Any help/advice about fitment or a source would be appreciated.

That part in your hand is the sensor for the lock cylinder. When you turn the key and unlock the security system sees that you turned the key to unlock. If you jimmied the door open that wouldn't turn so the security system would go off. That is all that is for.
That said, I think those come new with door handles. May be able to post a WTB and look for a good used switch, probably won't be hard to find.
