ah, i was under the impression that the bar only fit the R or base models.... thats what it said in the catalog anyway.... it might look skimpier, but it is chromoly, not steel, so it can be smaller, and lighter, and just as strong!
nice, maybe i'll have to sell my kirk racing one and get this...... by the way, kirk's doesn't mount to the rear struts either, unless they changed it recently.

I too would love to get the M2 roll bar. I wonder if someone could match the specs or find the orginal manufacturer that supplied M2 with the work.

I paid $300 in a mini GB I organized back in the spring of 1999.
The powedercoating I had done locally for $85 a steal by todays
standards. It's holding up fairly well.
I beleive their 1 3/4" bars sell for $350 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).
My bar is a 2" version. Unfortunately it appears the quality of the Kirk bars has gone downhill a bit since I bought my bar. Fitment issues. So YMMV.
As another data point on price, an old friend of mine had his
bar custom made by Mitch Piper:

His total cost including installation and white powdercoating
IIRC was under $850.
Not kncoking the thread posters Cusco but....

I'm looking forward to getting my Kirk Racing bar installed either tomorrow or sometime this weekend (along with assembling the engine).

I would love it! If they could manufacture that bar again, I would be all over it.

www.m2performance.com, under rx7 and safety
I've got a lead on the M2 fabricator and am actually buying a used M2 roll bar this week.
M2 is better than the Kirk for fitment and especially weight. It should be, it costs over twice as much. There are some issues with that Cusco....
