Question Cryogenic treatment of brake rotors

I'm working on rebuilding my front brakes on my FD and I'm thinking about cryogenic treatment of the rotors. This claims to increase their life by 100-300% and I'm tired of warped rotors. Has anyone done this? Where did you go and how much? Here is a link I found: http://www.frozenrotors.com/

No one has done this? Seems like the thing to do if you are hard on the brakes.

I've heard about cryogenics for clutch parts in motorcycles, but not for brake rotors. If you do it, please let us all know the results. Would be an interesting trial. Tom

Cryogenic treatment of the rotors seems to be common for race applications. I would think some of us on the Forum who participate in SCAA and\or do some track racing would have tried this.

I Know MAX COOPER has used Cryo Treated rotors in the past (he now runs a AP Big Brakes setup) check his web site.

Cryo helped a lot. My last set of front rotors lasted more than three times as long as the untreated rotors did. They were starting to get little surface cracks when I switched to big brakes, but they were still in decent shape. I was kind of skeptical about if it would help or not, but I am convinced now. I had Brembo OEM-style rotors from http://www.brakeco.com/ treated at http://www.cryoscience.com/.

I got my Brembo crossdrilled/slotted rotors cad plated - gave it a goldish bronze tint. Supposed to protect against rusting and warping. Not sure it's like cyro treatment but mine cost $50 for all 4 to be treated and they look cool.

Pretty sure the cad plating just keeps them from rusting. Cryo rearranges the molecules in the metal to make it stronger. Cryo then plating would be nice...

They say the worst thing you can do to your rotors is race from stoplight to stoplight. The part of the rotor still under the pad does not cool at the same rate as the rest of the rotor, warping them. It appears that cryo should help.

I knew a Viper guy who had his rotors cryo treated and they cracked the first time at the track. It was probably just a bad job, but it is something to look out for.
