its easy to port. its just pulling the turbos that take the most time. You can do it i pulled mine while the engine was in the car but it took the better part of 3 hours plus a case of beer. remember there are 7 bolts from the turbo to manifold.

Why don't you just run a restrictor plate in the exhaust or put a hi-flow cat back on until it's a convenient time to port the wastegate?
How bad of boost creep are you experiencing?

I just finished welding a high flow cat onto a midpipe but I haven't installed it so I haven't experienced any boost creep yet but I wanted to have the wastegate ported at about he same time to avoid any potential trouble. I would have choosen to do it myself but I have heard it is pretty tricky and time comsuming to remove the turbos and I don't want to botch anything up in the process. I was lucky enough to have a few places near me that specialise in import tuning and instillations which probably could do the work, I'll just give them a call when I get back from vacation.

You don't think so? I'm going to have a full 3" system with the DP, high flow MP and catback. While I was searching I heard that some people experienced boost creep with the same 3" setup even with the high flow cat. Regardless, better safe than sorry I say. I'm sure I will need to do it later anyway once I start modding my car further.

No one has ever experienced CREEP with a hi-flow cat with the stock twins.... Yes, you will have elevated boost levels that must be controlled with a boost controller. That is not CREEP.

Rynberg, theres no need to get worked up over something so little. I did more searching and you are right. I'll just get a manual boost controller as a temp until I choose to buy an electronic one along with another bunch of parts for my car. And I ordered one of those shop manuals on a CD a few days ago so when that comes I'll have a look at how to get my turbos out and decide if I want to port the wastegate myself.

Yeah, I've been hearing it isn't so bad if you take out the turbo and bring it to whoever is porting it for you, but I didn't want to have to remove it myself if I didn't have to, although I think a few hours labor is worth saving hundreds of dollars.

I'm not yelling or getting worked up about anything....I use caps for emphasis, not just for yelling....The reason I emphasized it is you didn't answer my questions that I posted earlier in the thread, leading me to believe that you were getting all excited about porting the wastegate before you even knew if you had to or not....

Is porting the wastegate for people running Midpipes on stock ECUs or something? I'm running full exhaust with a Pettit ECU and no Pill in the wastegate line. I get about 12-13 psi. Can someone completely explain the reasons they port their wastegate?

Some cars get bad creep, others don't. You're creeping pretty good -- 12-13 psi when you should be only getting 7 psi....does it hold in cold weather? Have you tried running 14-15 psi? You might discover it won't hold at higher psi....
