Coolant leak at front of engine housing.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WHERE THIS LEAK IS COMING FROM!...all I know its from deep under the rats nest or something of the sort....on the turbo side. IKts nopt the pipe that goes from the water pump houseing to the throttle body...that thing is leak free.....this is somewhere under it but by the looks of the cooling diagram...it doesn't make any sense. The coolant runs down the front of the engine....so I don't know what it is....

May be between the water pump housing and engine, or one of the rubber coolant lines to the turbo - they frequently leak.

You'll just have to pull some parts off and track the leak down.

You can get the turbo coolant hoses from malloy for around $15 shipped. Might as well do them while you pull stuff apart. I am sure Ray can have them to you with 2-3 days.

But what could there be between the water housing and the engine that could leak? IU already checked the turbo lines and they are not the problem.....

The coolant line that runs from the back of the "block" to the TB near the firewall could have a leak somewhere up rom the "block" nipple side. It may be spraying coolant into the rats nest area and pooling down near the fuel rails/injectors/FPD. This pooling would then cause the coolant to run down the front of the block just like happens when the FPD leaks and pools in their.

If that is not the case I would recheck the hose behind the alternator and under the pressure tank. Next culprit would be turbo coolant hoses as already spoken.

My water pump failed at the mounting point, so it could definitely be that -- drained the engine dry in less than 10 minutes. Mine failed at the track, 300+ miles from my home, so consider yourself lucky.

The thermostat and its housing are sealed by a seal around the edge of the thermostat. Any corrosion in the seat for this seal will cause a leak that runs down the front of the engine.

There's a rubber "elbow" hose at the back of the WP that connects to a hard pipe that runs to the TB. It's either that hose, the hose at the back of the block that goes to the TB, a turbo coolant hose, WP, or a coolant seal. I would almost bet that it's the first hose that I mentioned. (Had the same problem)

I think you've already fixed this though
