Cool Power System by Pettit Racing
I responded to a thread pertaining to this and I didn't realize it was in the group buy center section. I figure it will get more looks and responses here.
I'm curious if anyone has any good or bad feedback on this product? I figured if it was really that good I would have read a lot about it by now but that's not the case. Any opinions? Thanks

a lot of people use thermo tech and from having & experiencing it. It starts to turn into ashes (doesn't last more than 4 months) then after it peels off you got to start re wrapping it again!
The main cooling items i have is #1 a turbo blanket!
Everything around the turbo will be saved so much by having a turbo blanket, and the thick ones last a long long time. Plus it keeps the heat in the housing thus aiding the spool
Rubber wrap wrapped around the A/c lines for those that have a/c keeps the plastic hoses from being burnt and i have the rubber wrap on my summit radiator fan wires as they go over the very hot koyo radiator to get to the box!
and a custom 3 in pipe between the air filter and the pipe itself with a blanket around the pipe, plus a metal box around the air filter so that it gets only cold air
that turbo blanket that pettit has is way to small for the heat the turbo delivers. you want a turbo blanket check out gotham racing!

Yup, the Gotham Racing turbo heat blanket works *extremely* well.
Also, when you order the blanket from them, get the 5/8th reinforced blue silicone hose to use for your heater hose, at least 3 feet or so. It's not on the website, but Alex will sell it to you over the phone.
I disagree on the thermotec sleeving, I've had pretty good experience with it. Just make sure you get the 2000 degree stuff
Edit: Ceramic coating also pays dividends here

So... the turbo blanket concept sound good, I'm a little concerned about coking my turbo with all that retained heat. What are the concerns from that? How does the retained heat help it spool?

Coking the turbo is a concern of mine also. I was under the impression that the turbo needs to dissipate heat as much or even more so than anything on the engine cause of it's high temp.
Has anyone experienced any problems with turbo blankets over an extended period of time?

You guys need to spend more time in the Single Turbo section

Thanks for the info on the thread Rich, you're right I really haven't been on the single forums in a while. I've seem to have heard some negative things about the blankets in the past but with no real proof.
So I guess the pettit blanket isn't really enough for a GT35R? (.82 A/R)
I might look at Gotham Racing's turbo blanket. Thanks

So has anyone been using a blanket long enough (3 years +) and seen any ill effects from the blanket after a turbo change/rebuild? I would think someone has had that experience by now.
