CompuStar Alarm Owners - Any Good?

I'm thinking of getting a CompuStar alarm. Any opinions? Pros and cons.

Or what is a good alarm system?

Thanks!

I got my wife (now ex wife) a compu star starter alarm combo.. Got her the best one they make.... ended up being a piece of ****. Her key fob never seems to go a week or 2 without going on the fritz... To spell it out a bit better, she has 12 fobs that she has gone through and it still doesn't work right.(at least they were warranty).

My denali had one when I bought it. Had the key fob with the display, remote start, etc. I kinda didn't like it, but figured I'd keep it as long as it worked okay.

That thing blew goats. Not only could I not find a comprehensive manual online, I couldnt find any dealers anywhere within 5 states of here. The ******* key fob would start playing "B-I-N-G-O" if you drove down the road and hit a bump and the fob hit the steering column (or any light impact would set it off). My LCD display was screwed up and it didnt show the doors/hood/etc opening, the car idling, etc. so I kinda had to guess about the status unless I could see the vehicle. The keyfob seemed to eat batteries about every month.

Finally I came out of walmart one night and it wouldn't unlock my doors. I had to use my key manually, and as soon as I started the truck, the alarm went ******* wild. I had to drive about 1/8 mile before it shut off. Then, at 2am when I got home, and opened my door to get out, it started going ******* wild again. I couldnt get it to shut off, so I popped the hood in the dark, felt around until I found the siren and pulled like a ************ on the wires until it stopped.

I took it the next day and had that bullshit removed and a new viper top of the line paging alarm/remote start installed, and have had no issues since.

Yeah, I had one for a little while. It worked fine except for the key fob LCD display quit working after like a month or two.
