Stock ECU or not?

The PowerFC's stock map is cranky on cold starts, I changed the settings and made it much better. Stock ECU, could be something with the water temp sensor.

Dale,
I kinda get this with my stock ECU too.

Cold start: 1000rpm steady....(10 seconds in) *cough splutter* engine misfires, RPM dips and roughens to around 500rpm* I put my foot in, bring it smoothly up to 2000rpm, engine happy to fast idle again as long as I keep it on 1000rpm with my foot til water temp reaches just warm. Then comes off fast idle by itself as per usual.

Only does this during cold days. on cold start during warm summery days, I do not get this behaviour?

So... you have a hot start problem:

And a cold start problem?

Do that compression test you were talking about in the other thread.

Its just lack of fuel on cold start. No way to fix it with your current ECU but you can check fuel related things like fuel pump, fuel filter, etc.

No. Your wastegate does not function at idle.

Get a compression test.
