Clutch slipping

I think my clutch started slipping the other day. I was in 5th gear at about 3000rpms (I was on the highway) and I gave it about half throttle, and I saw my revs go up and I wasnt really going anywhere. Its most noticable in 3rd 4th and 5th. Could it be anything but a worn out clutch?

When I bought the car in April the previous owner said the car had a new clutch, but didnt say exactly how new. My mods are dp, catback, and intake, so Im sure Im not overpowering the stock clutch...

Yep, you will typically see the slipping start in the upper gears as those are much harder on the driveline (as odd as it sounds). As it gets worse, it moves down into the lower gears.

Exactly the same thing happening to mine at the moment (started yesterday). My next upgrades are going to be ECU and intercooler as I want to start pushing the boost up a little with my EBC. Question is how much can the standard clutch take, from what I've read in the forums it should be around the 300rwhp mark so I'm guessing that the standard clutch should be ok for me at the moment. I'm kinda aiming for 350bhp until the engine rebuild is due.

What I'm asking really is if I should go for an uprated clutch now or just sort the friction disc on the standard jobbie?

Same thing happened to me. The owner said it had a centerforce clutch (not sure how old it was). Had the car for a little under a year and it started slipping just like you said. It wasn't long before I couldn't even drive the car up onto a trailer the clutch was slipping so badly.

I got an ACT street/strip clutch and pressure plate combo from rx7store.net - It is great.
