Clutch pedal way too high

So I just went through the seemingly very common problem of the clutch pedal sticking to the floor. I rebuilt the master cylinder and bled the system. Now the pedal feels good, doesn't stick etc, however the pedal is soooo very high. Easy driving is ok, but if I get on it at all the clutch slips. Normally I would think it's the clutch itself, but it worked great before I parked it when the first problem started.

I've checked the rod on the pedal and even if I adjust it all the way out to not touch the mc it's the same issue.

What else should I try looking for on this?

Hi what you seem to have done is altered the pivot length, it may be the push rod is either not in the master cyl hole ,and riding on the edge, or you just need to return the push rod to its original length, if all fails it may just be some how,you may have knocked off the rubber stopper that the clutch pedal sits on at rest

I'm pretty sure the rod is not the issue. I did make sure it seated into the right place and played with adjusting it quite a bit.

I will take a look for the stopper though!

No the rubber is there.

What about a problem in rebuilding it? I was really gentle with everything coming off and putting it back on, I'm very confident that I didn't hurt anything else in the system. But do you think it's possible I may have put something back together wrong?? I mean would anything in the MC cause that kind of problem if not put in a very certain way?

the master is just a plunger in a tube , but only one side has a hole in which to insert your plunger rod, remove your Master Cyl and look inside the Cyl if the hole faces out ward , its correct ,if not remove the c clip reverse the plunger and try again,personally, I would install a new one and the slave Cyl as well and , never look at them again . hope that helps
