Carbon front strut bar.

Ok, I know there is a thread about this somewhere but for the life of me I cant find it. OK I found one, and the only one I have ever seen that is real carbon fiber. Now I dont have a picture for the moment. So I will try to explain it best as possible. It extends from both tops of the strut, toward the firewall, it looks like the ones by AutoExe and RE-amemiya that people were asking about, that were aluminum, anyway. The carbon fiber cover the same area as those ones only the space between the bars, if they were bars are carbon fiber. So basically if you put it on, you cant see your ABS or Brake master Reservior. COOL HUH? i know Im not very good at explaning it, but Im getting one. I will post the picture, if I can get my scanner to work with Windows ME.... Oh I will tell you later who its made by and how much.. I dont want to lose you guys before you see the pic. BUT its made by a popular, high quality company..

JIC Magic has Carbon Strut bars

Ziel Motorsports has one on display. John's english is limited but from what I understood it is aluminum wrapped with Carbon Fiber. It sounds like you are describing a different looking bar though. I think you will need to post a picture.

Oh no this one is here in Japan. All carbon no aluminum or any other material used but carbon... I tried to take a picture but no dice, the pages are glossy I just get a big flash mark. OH I will just say its made by PANSPEED, and its a little pricey, but I will give you the picture first..

Holy Carbon Fiber overload Batman! Now that is a strut tower brace. Might as well do the whole firewall in CF while they are at it. Do they sell those, or is it a one off piece? Crazy stuff

Sorry guys I was sleeping, little time diff here. haha
Ya that picture is it above. So I guess I dont haave to post it now. Its going for $2100.00 shipped, I know its expensive, I would agree, but BOY is it sweet. Im going to go for it when I get the money, if I can. The way its made to me looks strong. Also since it is on there car, they drive those cars on the street too, so it obviously how up to normal twisting or torting..
Jason

ALSO PANSPEED does NOT have a web page, I will have all of their stuff on my web page soon. Thanks..

hahaha no more strut bar? I know too expensive huh? I guess thats the cost of a high strength all carbon strut bar.

For the intercooler thats theirs $2580. shipped. I just want to say these prices are not mine, they are theirs. Your paying for their original design. AUTOEXE is the same way, they over charge for stuff. Now this weekend im calling PANSPEED, to work a deal and if I get it, I can get your guys stuff cheaper.

do what you can. i would be willing to pay for these parts, but if they can be had for slightly less, then that would be optimal......intercooler and carbon brace. however, my roomate is one of those mold anything into fiberglass and paint it car audio guys, and i am going to try to convince him to fabricat me one in fiberglass, and than have it layed with carbon fiber.....

imo this isn't that effective. i want the bar to span the width of the car at the struts because that is where there is a huge cavity. to have it span the car at the firewall isn't that useful cause there's already metal there reinforcing the car. btw, rxplicit, a fiberglass one covered with carbon fiber is just completely gay.

blow me fdracer . sorry if i wasn't tooooo clear on what my intentions were. i plan on simply using the fiberglassed base as a 'mold' like most people do for fabricating carbon fiber, that way, i'll have a template to make others if there was a lingering desire..gay as it might seem, ill have one soon...

rxplicit, i didn't know that. regardless, it still doesn't solve the issue of that brace providing reinforcement at the firewall and that carbon fiber isn't as strong when it is layed relatively flat such as this is, it is stronger if molded 3-dimensionally. you wouldn't use a carbon fiber hood as a stressed member would you? that's why in a carbon fiber tube frame car the whole support structure is the steel tubing and the carbon fiber "skin" just covers it.

FDracer, you dont know much about Carbon fiber do you? Well as a composite tech for the military, I would say its more then strong enough... Its a lot for looks too I would have to agree, but if you put a strut bar on a car, well now you have to go below and strength that too, well now that you just did that you will have to do the fenders and firewall, then so on and so on.... ALSO about the carbon fiber being layed, I just could get over someone that thinks they know everything, when you do your lay up if you follow the rules for the strongest possible, you can make it hard a steel, but lighter then aluminum......

for the phone numbers those are right
just do it like this from the states

0 dont think I did that by mistake. Also
they will only know Japanese

Sorry the post was sooo long I was just
a little iritated...

Composite material is strong. But what about flexing?

no **** carbon fiber is strong, that's why they use a carbon fiber monocoque body for open wheel race cars like F1 and CART. but those are molded into a three dimensional tub. carbon fiber is still relatively weak when layed flat is is the case with this strut bar.

its all good dude, however, i was planning on running a strut bar in addition to the carbon insert. i know that it most likely is not as effective as the direct bolt in and straight across conventional bar. However, if used in conjunction with one, would be more than effective. i would most likely have to adapt the mounting assemblies to work in another area than the strut tower, as they already compromise the space and the hood reinforcement........
