Reading through the thread again, I realize that the RX7store has carbon fiber hatches as well.

Anyone know if it they are the same as from VIS racing? If so, I can then go through Jason to set up the group buy. If not, I am not sure Jason would approve the group buy.

I'll ask VIS Racing tomorrow when I call them but if the group purchase goes through with VIS Racing, you or any individual can probably work out something with them. I was pleasantly surprised how fast they worked out the prices for me when I asked them about a group purchase - they seem very willing to make deals happen.

I called VIS Racing.
The guy I have been speaking to is Simon.
He said that if people want to buy the hatch along with a hood, he will give a discount on the price of the hood and most likely will be able to save on shipping as well.
He told me the hatch weighs between 10-15lbs.
I am going to look at the hatch on Friday. I think that will answer all the questions regarding quality, weight, and whether there are any indentations, etc.
I will take pics and post them.

Damn, once I get everything I want done. Weight savings is next. I think this and the CF hood painted to match the body will be on my list....60Lbs for $500 is kick ***.
