Car wont start, I SEARCHED!! Everyone says something different!! HELP

OK guys, here is what happened, I replaced what little hoses I have left since going non-seq the other day. Got done and went to leave for work, the car idled BAD and smoke was pouring out the tailpipe, I let it run for like 30 seconds then since I was worried I shut it down and I had to leave right away so I didnt have time to double check everything. Well when I got home that night I popped the hood, took a quick glance and found that I bumped the vacuum hose that goes to the MAP sensor off so I plugged it back it and the car started right up, I only let it idle for like 15 seconds assuming everything was ok and went to bed. Got up the next day to go race and it wont turn over, it cranks and thats it so I assumed it was flooded somehow. I searched and tried multiple things, pulling the fuel pump relay and trying to crank for 10 seconds multiple times, pop it back and no go. Pulled the fuel pump fuse and relay, did the cranking a few times and still nothing. Now the battery is about dead so now what??? Do you guys think its indeed flooded and that the plugs are so fouled that it wont crank over??? I plan on pulling the plugs tomrrow and charging the battery unless someone else has a good suggestion, thanks a million guys. I need to get this thing started ASAP,

1)pull plugs, turn engine, with gas to the floor, several times
2)let the car sit for 30 min.
3) repeat steps 1 and 2
4)put a few tablespoons of ATF in the leading plug holes
5) put in new plugs and turn engine over, with gas to the floor, a couple of times
6)start engine normally, being prepared to "catch" the engine if it starts to die.

When you say repeat step 1 and 2 does that mean I have to put the plugs back in every time after I crank engine with gas to the floor or just keep them out while it sits for 30 minutes then try cranking again with the gas pedal to the floor? Also should I pull any fuses or relays associated with the fuel pump before trying to crank it or doesnt it matter with the plugs out? thanks man,

Steve

Also in number 5 you say to put the new plugs in, well if those were the problem it should start up right? or does flooring the gas not allow it to?

Leave the plugs out until after the ATF.
Pull the circuit opening relay.
Flooring the gas pedal turns off the injectors. In step 5 I say to do it so that the ATF will get spread out.

I dont think I want to use the ATF, in case I put too much or something so I am going to try doing it without that step

you can't put too much atf fluid in, it will just spit it out after a couple of turns.

ok now for what my problem was when my car did not start, my fd would not start one time and i though it was flooded, i did everthing above and still a no go, then i pulled the fuel line in the engine bay and it was bone dry. turns out the fuel pump came off the fuel line and no fuel was getting thru so check that you are getting fuel pressure by pulling the front fuelline and jumping the diagonostic connector, make sure to have your key in the ignition to the on position or it wont jump the fuel pump and youll just get confussed (sp?) like i did for a while.

check spark by grounding the plug and have someone cranking it.
NOTE: you dont have to hold the plug, just grab a wire and ground that to the body and wrap the other end to the sparkplug threads, this way you dont get shocked (Thanks for the tip dragon!)

be prepared for the smoke cloud that will come out of your tailpipe after you put in the atf fluid (dont be parked in a garaged/enclosed garage) heres how it will look and it will look like this for about 5-10 mins
http://silverfd.efiunlimited.com/Smoking.AVI

BTW: my way for getting atf fluid in to the engine is via taping a 3-5 foot long hose to a 1/4 inch plastic tube to a funnel and pouring it in. i put like 4oz. of fluid in to each rotor and it was fine. You could probally pour in 1/2 a quart of atf fluid and it would just spit it out. In anycase, I'm pretty sure you can't hydro lock a rotary engine. Dont be afraid of this step!

you should also clean your sparkplugs via using a toothbrush and water and make sure they are nice and dry via flamming the tip with a propane torch. personnaly i found that i got a stronger spark with a little bit of atf fluid on the sparkplug after I tried cranking her with the atf fluid but that is just me, it could have just been a fluke

I doubt that you popped your engine, hopefully you will get her back up and running soon. compression test should be the last of the test that you do (since it will cost the most; you having to tow the car to someone that has a rotary compression tester and all). double check all the vaccum lines too while your at it.

Good luck

The way I get ATF into the plug holes is by taking a little rubber bulb that was intended for use in ear cleaning, filling it up and squeezing it in.
