If i drive my FD for a few minuets and park it and let her cool down the top radiator hose collasps under the vaccum pressure and i fill it up and it just seems to keep needing more.. every day.
I replaced the radiator cap but not the stock AST cap i am going to do that today..
So i am suspecting an o ring failure.. <bad news> but i was just wondering about the comment about the engine oil looking like coffe and milk, what does that mean.. I changed my oil yesterday and every thing was fine but when i put new oil in there, the cap and the shaft had a brown creamy like coating on it..
which i beleive is condensation. but i just wanted to be reassured.

If the hose collapses under vacuum after cool-down, the coolant is not being sucked back from the overflow tank. Check the (AST) radiator cap for proper function and the hoses to the overflow tank to see if coolant can flow freely.

you may have me confused with some one else.. actully it may be my fault i just piggy backed off this thread. i am not the originator of this topic. im just having the same problem
but i have taken the throttle body hose off while i fill the radiator until i see fluid coming out of it before i reconnect it.. in the last week i have put about 2 bottles of anifreeze into the system
it does not over heat and i keep a bottle of antifreeze in the trunk and i check the coolant level every chance i get.
all the lines coming out of the AST seem to be connected and not leaking.. but i am going to change the cap this afternoon..

Long story short.. there was a build up of some brown.. gunk that was getting stuck inbetween the transition couplings..
well i am going to take her for a spin and pick up an AST cap .. let her kewl down and see if my problem is still there..
thanx again for all out your input..

Can some one tell me if the neck of the overflow tank is supposed to be flush with the tank its self?
I replaced the two caps and as soon as i let it heat up .. coolant started leaking out from the top of the tank before the neck.. As i am reading some text from other sites, if the over flow tank was to "over flow" it is supposed to come out the cap of the overflow tank.
any one have some input on this..
