Cant get into gear when standing still!
hey guys just rebuilt my motor and everything went well. i put everything back in the car just the way it was. but for some reason its soooo hard to get the car in gear when stationary. When moving its easy but when standing its not so easy. i bled the slave cylinder but that didnt help... any ideas?

Hard to go into 1st or into any gear? I would check installation issues like the trans harness caught between the block and bellhousing. That's a really easy mistake, trust me!.
Check clutch by removing inspection cover from bellsousing and watch clutch movement from under car with someone pressing the clutch.

Did you have the trans out too or just the engine. If trans also you could check the installation of the shifter and make sure all of those parts are back in correctly. Are you confident that the clutch is not only moving but moving enough?

I never put in a twin disc, but in general put the side toward the trans where the splined center section sticks out further. You may be able to get an idea through the inspection hole and by looking at your old disc.

What type of twin disc. IIRC my carbon twin disc does not matter which way the disc faces as long as the center hub is positioned correctly.
Have you bled your slave cylinder? Did you inspect your clutch fork to make sure it is not bent?
If you put the car in gear and try to start the car with the clutch pedal depressed does the car try to move? Are the cranking rpm's the same?

How much force do you have to apply to get it to go into gear when stationary? Is it like way more than normal? Does it move smoothly even if you are rolling 5 mph?

hey man if all else fails it might be a long shot but if you are running a cable clutch maybe check to see that its not frayed or stretched if not check all lines of lsd to make sure there isnt any leaks even small holes it could be a long shot but possibly worth the while

and wouldnt go into any gears.

not to mention that the clutch fork breaks with heavier duty pressure plates i read that on the forum somewhere that the fork cant handle the extra pressure. the new forks are stronger then the previous version.

Here's an easy test:
Put your car in first gear, and hold the clutch to the floor with the engine running. If the clutch starts to engage after a while (pedal still to the floor), then you have a hydraulic problem (master cylinder or slave).
Did you adjust the clutch pedal height after installing it?
