A/c Help

My a/c works when its on 1 and 2 but it doesnt work on 3 and 4. You can hear the compressor turn off when the fan is on 3 or higher. Has anyone ever had this problem or know how to fix it??

The PFC seem to cause this problem...It is a hit or miss thing it seems...Mine works--someothers don't!

there are also MANY threads about this in the PFC forum. When I had my orginal engine harness and PFC, the AC worked on all speeds. When I had my rebuild, I had the engine harness replaced and then lost the AC in position 3. Replace the resistor and still no workie.

Finally, had my mechanic (who is also a mazda tech) trace the problem and ground the switch. Now it works for me in all positions.

in the back of the ac unit. To tell you the truth...I'm not sure how he did it. He spent a whole day checking the system and told me that's how he did it.

It works perfectly and it still shuts off like it is suppose to under hard accel. Search in the pfc forum as it has been mentioned a couple times.

The easiest thing to do is just try the relay first.
