Ta Mahjik - I now know what an impact driver is.

When I did googled Australian sites for "Impact Driver" it came up with alot of 12V cordless impact driver.......hammer drill......blah type stuff which is why I was confused.

Cheers again

Thank you so much. I picked one of these up today to put my new rotors on and it was a SNAP.

If it doesnt come out the first time, just use an air impact hammer. Place the chisel on the head of screw at an angle and pull the trigger. It works 100% of the time, everytime.

If you drill use large bit about the size of the head of the screw, and when you can pull rotor you might get the screw out with vise grips, as it not the threads that are so hard to unscrew. Good luck!

Yes, the timing of this thread's return is uncanny since I have been installing SS brake lines (Endless)/overhauling pistons (Mazda seal kit)/replacing rotors (PowerSlot Cryo)/painting calipers (G2)/replacing pads (Endless). Despite the fact that the rotors were corroded as hell, I had no problems with the screws. In fact, they were only hand tight, at least on the passenger side. The driver's side was missing the screws altogether! I did have to pry the rotors off of the hub though.

Consider yourself lucky, those aren't your original rotors

Good info! I broke two bits using an impact wrench on mine before I said fuckit, they aren't that bad! Maybe I'll tackle mine in the spring.

Old times!

I had to drill the heads off those f*ckers. I think the new screws are still sitting in my tool box

I find myself bumping old threads frequently in an attempt to show people the power of the 'search' button

I once saw a cartoon where Bugs Bunny froze a safe and then tapped it with a hammer and it broke open. Maybe try holding an ice cube or two to the screws and then tap with a hammer to break them off. Good luck!

For those of you who did this, how did you keep the rotor from turning over while you were drilling? I have a couple of stuck screws on the front rotor too
