Brake light on dash won't turn off.
Suggestions?
The red light that indicates that your parking brake is up, won't turn off, even when the parking brake is no longer engaged.

I just changed the pads 2 weeks ago and bleed the brakes so it definitely can't be the pads. Don't see how that would trip the light anyway.
But as far as the brake fluid, I haven't checked it since. I'll check it later.
Pretty good suggestion, i wouldn't have thought of checking the fluid.

thats what i was going to say....mine comes on if the fluid gets low....had a leaky line for the clutch...loose...and the light would come on....tightened the fitting and no more leaks...and no more light.

I have a slightly different problem. My brake fluid level is fine, but my light comes on only briefly under very hard acceleration. Doesn't seem to cause problems, but is annoying.
Any ideas? Probably the switch for the e-brake handle or something?

Here's an older thread on the same subject:

It might have some other suggestions for you as well.

Your handle could be lifting slightly. Tighten it down a little and that should fix it.

Maybe the linkage is a bit loose and pulling a enough to trip the switch. I just need to take a look.

Turns out I have a leaky clutch line which is where the fluid is going, this also explain the weird clutch pedal feel lately as well.
Thinking about replaceing the clutching line with a SS earl's hose. Comments???

$38.00 seems like a small price for piece of mind

Just called RP and had the hose ordered for next day delivery. Cost me 65 total for that hose, including next day air delivery. =(
