i run the Borla 40944.
previously, i ran a Pettit resonated midpipe and generally felt around town that maybe i had just robbed a bank as the guys in the cars w the lights on top were really looking me over.
since i switched to the 40944 everything is just right.
i run two TO4s, each having a 3 inch downpipe. the 2 DPs run into a Burns Stainless 2 into 1 that has a V band on it. that V band mates w a V band on the Borla mid-muffler. my catback is a RacingBeat twin outlet. my motor is street/raceported.
the setup is nice around town and just about right under full throttle... which is over 500 rwhp at the moment.
love the 40944.

^ I think most of your noise arrest is from you Racing Beast muffler. I know there is a slight restriction with the multicore but it's no more then the Racing Beat, most likely less and lighter. Using the strait through BOrla wouldn't be any different then a strait through Magnaflow.
Too bad Twinturbo93 doesn't have his FD anymore. He is the only one that actually used the multicore version of XR-1.
Howard, why didn't you try to run a dual exhaust? You could have added an X pipe then finished off with a dual in/out Magnaflow muffler (same as on my truck) or better yet you could have done the magnaflow dual in/out before the Y pipe and then finished off with 4" pipe to a Borla XR-1 mutlicore.

Ditto.
Street port/DP/MP (with Borla)/N1 duals
Much better at idle, but still sounds like an outboard. Doesn't set off car alarms at idle, but still sets them off when driving through a parking garage. The neighbors stopped calling the cops, so I take it that the car is quieter.
Much less droning on the highway.
At WOT still loud as h*ll.

I dont want to thread jack, but from what ive heard the RB duals can get kinda zippy sounding. Does anyone know of a muffler that i can add with the RB duals that would smooth the sound out? Im kinda looking for a low/ deep sound. The currint catback on my 7 is a no name brand but it sounds devine. Only problem is it looks like **** and is at times too loud. I have a full 3 inch exhuast. Do these borlas have a good sound? Should i look into a reso-mp?
