Question Boost Wrap?

FELLAS,
THANKS FOR ANSWERING THAT THREAD ON THE YPIPE AND AST REMOVAL...MUCH LOVE. I WAS WONDERING IF BY GOING WITH JET-HOT CERAMIC COATING ON "EVERYTHING" (DP, HFLOW CAT, EXHAUST, MANIFOLD, INTAKES,THE IC PIPES, EVEN THE RADIATOR PIPES) WILL THAT SIGNIFICANTLY "LOWER" THE TEMP AND ADD HORSEPOWER? I AM PLANNING ON GOING WITH "M2 PERFORMANCE" UNDER THE HOOD, APEXI BGAUGE, GREDDY FCON, JUST FOR STARTERS.... BUT I'M TRYING TO DECIDE ON AN EXHAUST. I NEED THAT "DEEP-RUMBLE-I-GOT-POWER-FOR-YOUR-***" TONE THAT MAKES WANNABE RACERS AT THE STOPLIGHT THINK TWICE(NOT THAT HAIR-DRYER-ON-DUST I HEAR THESE JABRONIES USING TODAY) OBVIOUSLY NON-RX-7 USERS..... ANY SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!
-BIG NAP

I had my DP coated JH2000. Inside and outside. Not too sure what the benefit will be with the CAT (you cannot coat in the inside), now with a MP you could have the inside and outside done and there may be some significance there.

You will have to get aftermarket intake pipes, IC pipes, radiator hoses (like cool flex)...all of the stock components are plastic and rubber. Visually, the JH should make your engine compartment look sweet, but you probably won't get much of a performance benefit from coating all of these things. The big benefits are on the exhaust side.

Best place to start with the JH is on the DP. The removal of the precat and replacement with the DP will significantly drop under-hood temps. You might want to consider reviewing the reliability mods and cooling system upgrades. Make sure the engine is healthy before you add too many performance mods.

As far as exhaust goes, I have a pretty loud exhaust (Apex GT). Just wanted performance, not sound quality (although, I think it sounds pretty damn good with the silencer in). I don't know if there is anything that will make a 13B rumble, I have heard that the M2 has a pretty smooth, deep tone at idle. Sounds like you might want something more aggressive though.

You should start by using some jet hot on yourself. I decided to try it out on my cupholder first and have been very pleased with the results. I'm doing my *** next. This will give you mad quik 60 foot times bro.

If you are really getting all M2 stuff ask them if they think it makes a difference on their setup. (I doubt it)

Scott

FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD, JET HOT DOESN'T LOWER TEMPS THAT MUCH!

uhh... caps are annoying. anyway... Jet-hot is more to protect and insulate the metal than keep heat out of the engine bay.... it has a nice side effect in that by insulating the metal, more of the heat shoots through your the system and doesn't get absorbed (by the metal) and therefore lowers the temps just a bit (because the metal radiates less heat).

I don't think that coating everything is the best way to lower your temps. Get a DP (if you don't already have one) and you'll notice a HUGE difference in under hood temps from that alone.

btw, I have an M2 DP and got it coated with Jet Hot... it's not an incredibly bad idea or the DP, but it certainly isn't necessary.
