Great numbers man . It's nice to see you making great power with a conservative tune.

It's nice to see someone with restraint. Personally, after spending my life savings in the engine bay I explained to Steve that I wanted the most out of my setup as possible even though the car is my daily driver. Maybe that's the difference between paying someone to do all the work in your engine bay and piecing together all of it month after month. I was very confident in every part and bolt that was put on there.

too bad you couldn't get the boost controll right as well. I guess a big engine port and the high flowing twins with small wastegate will do that.

any way congradualtions 375rwhp on the street is very fast. You'll run high 11s with a just decent launch at the track.

Did Bryan dyno his 3d gen with 62-1 turbo? I'd like to know how much hp he made at what boost if you can find out please!

What in the hell is wrong with a twin turbo motor that safely puts out 375 HP? Agentspeed's got the right idea. I would stick with the sequentials myself but the BNRs look like a winner. At 15PSI they ought to be "overbuilt" and last a long time.

Surgemonster, he will run better than "high 11s". I run high 11s with 335HP.

Tcb, I don't think anyone's saying anything's wrong w/ his settings...the issue is people are power-hungry, and wanna see high #s - and they want that sacrifice (a dangerous dyno run) done by someone else. And yea, I'll admit, I'm one of 'em. I really wanna know what these bad boys can do when they're maxed out, but I don't wanna find out myself the hard way

That's just me being real, but I'm def. not pressing him for anything more than he's already done. Ppl put so much time and effort into their setup, they wanna just relax and enjoy it for more than a day. I totally understand that, and will prob be just like that. I hope it proves very reliable and enjoyable to him for a LONG time

Congrats on the numbers It's your car, so you run it any way you want.

All being well my car will be running (hopefully for more than 20 miles this time ) around the end of February, so I'll see what numbers I can get out of the BNRs at a somewhat higher boost level (lack of self restraint )

You have to remember that he really doesn't have that high hp everywhere the boost creeped at high rpms so the 375 is more peaky in his car than a car holding solid boost. Any way I said with a decent launch. I know how you are running 11s with that little hp and that's with crazy 60 foot times. You need about 380rwhp with a 2.0 60 time to just barely break into 11s. Not everyone is mario andretti.

SurgeMonster, get your facts straight before you make stupid comments.

I've got other more important things in my life than a car. I bought the car as a fun weekend toy. Sure I spend a lot of money on it and do most of the work myself but it is still just a hobby. One of many that I have...

You can run higher boost safer. Just a safety factor. I prefer overkill than pushing everything to the limit.

I would assume this was directed at me. Guys like you should read more and post less. There are too many parrots on this board......I already smacked you down on one thread and you didnt reply, do I need to do it here too? "Buy a single" huh? You should charge for that kind of advice.

Agentspeed, great results, similar to what I expected. I plan on dynoing at 19 psi as soon as the weather here in NJ clears up. With JD tuning I have no worries on pushing the envelope......I want to see what these turbos will really put out with a fresh strong motor and all the accompanying required mods.

As soon as you get some quantifiable acceleration results (datalogs of street pulls, drag traps/et's etc) please post them up

[Edit: this post has been cripsr6 approved. thank you.]

Waydda go AgentSpeed!
Your mod path and strategy are pretty much in line with what I am considering myself.
Good for you for not pushing your setup to its very limit and for being happy with a compromise.
Sheesh, with the stock setup you could pass almost any car on the road at will, imagine what it'll be like now?
I can imagine the joy you'll have driving this thing without the black cloud of reliability ******* your every shift. And who really cares about 0-60 times when you can punch the throttle at an apex and rocket out of the corner hanging on for dear life! You're gonna have a LOT of fun.

thats not true..i run 12.2 with 340rwhp and a 2.0 60'time...thats with spinning thru second gear. i could get 11s.

EXACTLY!

There's too many people on here that seem to equate having the highest PEAK numbers as a more enjoyable car to drive. Yeah, I've seen quite a few 500 rwhp dyno sheets -- no ******* thank you. Gaining 200+ lb-ft of torque over 300 rpm is not useful in any kind of normal or track driving. It's useful in a straight line at high speeds and that's about it.

Hitting these kinds of rwhp numbers in a fairly reliable setup with a controllable onset of power and a broad power band makes for a more fun car to drive in ALL situations -- not just highway pulls from 90 mph.....

umm....i got news for yoa...18 psi is certainly not pushing HIS setup to its limits. IT is designed for higher boost, ie bnrs and low compression rotors. i think 15psi is childs play for what he has done to the car. But whatever to each his own. I wouldnt spend the money to make similar power to what the stock twins can do. i would want them to add some sort of value.

Now if he makes 400rwhp plus at 18psi i think that makes some sense and may drop the coin for a set myself. i think it is pretty obvious he will.

Agent speed ..are u set up parrallel (sp?)

rynberg, alot of the cars these days (pullied cobras and lightly modded z06s) will be faster then a 375rwhp FD. I understand what u are saying but in my mind its time to up the anti. I dont street race so i dont even know what the point is of being faster than either of those two cars. Maybe its an ego thing. Not sure if that makes sense but whatever.

The fact is BNRs are designed for more boost safely...for me i wouldnt buy them unless i can utilize them.

Well this is day number two with the tune. I'm still happy. The roads are still a little wet and the soon to be wife is with me so I can't really get on it... But the driveability is soooooo nice. I'm so glad I went this route. I'd have done it the same way if I could do it over again.
Oh and I don't race much on the street and I've never been on a drag strip so I can't shed any light on those subjects. Also I've only been on the dyno twice; Popped the motor the first time and the second wasn't over fast enough. It was quick too, only 8 pulls I think and then he did the driveability checks. My other bastard map was pretty close.
I don't care about racing a vette or a cobra, all I care about is enjoying the drive. Maybe the old muscle car I'm about to buy to building up I'll care more about straight line power...

There was a guy down there that was running the stage 3's seq but the last I heard he had a vacuum leak and it was causing a bad surge. He was going to get on the dyno again this morning if he could fix the problem. I haven't heard so maybe he'll post when he gets back in town.

sorry.....that isnt true at all.

no such thing as a reliable 19psi.

haha

i dont think "reliably" is the word I would use.

its like putting a diaper on a little kid after feeding him about two pounds of prunes (near 400rwhp)...it may give you some thought of comfort knowing it wont crap on the floor but either way you will be wiping up after it eventually.

How often do you drive? How hard do you drive? Occassional WOT isn't what I'm referring to. But then again, I don't know your driving habits...
