blitz boost gauge install?
Ok ill make it quick.I just got a boost gauge for christmas.Id like to install it but I have no clue where to hook up the power wire.Obviously the ground wire just needs to be bolted to the frame. But as far as the power wire im clueless.Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.Thanx.Also if anyone has pics or experience using a greddy 60mm universal a pillar pod let me know.
I havent really tried to pry the A pillar off yet.But Ive got a feeling it isnt that easy.

The best way to do it is to tap into the ash tray light... it doesn't really matter which wire you tap into if your gauge isn't powered with a LED (I dunno if Blitz ones are). With that said, you can also adjust the brightness of your gauge with the ****.

kick ***.Thats pretty slick.Using the ashtray wires.Well it sounds good to me.Although I think I may have to get some extra wire.I dont think the wires that the gauge came with are long enough to reach all the way to the ashtray wires.Unless the wires are located elsewhere.

You can tap it directly to the battery, then when you want the light to go off just pop your hood and disconnect it.
Use the ashtray!
The A-pillar just pops off, pull up while taking it off.
Congrats on the gift, I have a Blitz gauge too and love them.

thanx for the info.My last question is this.Ive read somewhere that you should connect the power and ground wires to the power wire from the ashtray. Is this true or can I connect the ground wire to the frame and the power wire from the gauge to the power wire from the ashtray.

I connected power wire from the gauge to one wire from the ashtray light and ground from the gauge to the other wire from the back of the ashtray light...works fine. If you don't do both, I think that the dimmer switch works in reverse...

Cause the wires supplied with the gauge are not long enough to reach the ashtray, therfore you have to extend them.
Explain to me why I would go through the trouble of extending and running 2 wires when I only have to do one?

Thats exactly what I was thinking gsr.Why extend two wires when i can extend 1.And the reason I ask so many questions about wiring and electrical stuff is because I have little to no electrical experience. So I was being carefull.I didnt exactly want to fry my $150 boost gauge. Not cheap.

Ok so heres an update.Everythings wired up and hooked up.Everything works fine.Although I wonder if when the car is idling it should read at like -0.1 bars? or should it be at 0? I havent done the official boost test yet but ive taken it for a spin around town and ive seen as much as .75 bar which is roughly 11psi.
Correct me if im wrong but the boost test is cruise at 35mph in 3rd gear and then go wot.Boost should hit above 10 psi before 4500rpms.At 4500 transition boost should drop to 8 psi and then build back up 10 psi all the way up to redline. One question all this is done in third gear only right?
And yes i was able to figure out the power wire from the ground wire.Thanx.
