best coolant o-rings?
What are the best coolant o-rings for the rotor housings? Is it best to go with the stock Mazda ones or are there some better ones made by aftermarket companys?
The car is a 93, stock turbos, downpipe and its going to get a streetport while its apart

Alot of people say that the Hayes are a good upgrade, but if you keep an eye on the engine temps and never make it overheat, then even the stock seals will work fine. I went with the Hayes just for the hell of it.

My motor died after 63k miles because of a bad coolant seal. The motor had *never* been overheated, or even close to it.
Go w/the Hayes; Dave at KDR put 'em in my motor, and he's never steered me wrong.

I didn't say that Hayes weren't good, but I have yet to see some hard technical data which shows that the Hayes will and do out last the stock seals. Most people just go with what they are advised hoping to make the right choice, but choosing based on the facts would be the best choice. I put the Hayes in my motor hoping that everyone is correct, but I still haven't seen any real comparison between the two. To gain some info regarding this we could start asking for some input from people who have these seals. Some good questions that should be asked are;
How many miles do you have on your engine with the Hayes water rings?
Have you ever developed a coolant leak(inside housings) with the Hayes water seals?
Have you ever overheated your engine with the Hayes water seals?
Did it develop a coolant leak after that?
I guess if we get some replies to these questions then we can start to form opinions based on the facts regarding the two.

I'm sure that Hayes doesn't actually make those seals, I think someone on the big list found the actual part number from McMaster Carr. Save some $$$ and look them up under o-ring coolant seals, shouldn't be too hard. Also after what I have read about Hayes and their reputation for ripping off people, I would never deal with them.

I checked out their web page (mcmaster) and all that I can find is bulk stock. Is this something that I have to make myself or is there a pre-made one that I can buy? I don't know if I'd trust an engine that *I* made the o-rings for
